i think the usb jig won't reset the counter.. it only force the phone into download mode..
to reset counter, use the triangle away

If my screen is black, how do I install the triangle away thing?

From what I was told by the technician himself , as long as the warranty sticker on the screws are not tampered with , they do cover even rooting . . . As for his case , hardware is involved as well since they need 2 replace it for RM750 .

flash back stock rom n see first.. if it's ok then install the triangle away to reset counter when you wan to sent to sc

just download any stock rom and flash via odin . . . . Since it's stock , it will remove your triangle when u bootup BUT i dunno which kernel u used b4 so best double check in download mode if u need to reset your binary count via Triangle Away . Oh ya , u still need 2 root your phone 2 use the app by the way . After u manage to reset the binary , flash again the stock firmware , 2nd time ...... On SGS3 , System->Settings->About device->Device Status still shows "Modified" even u use Triangle Away unless there is a fix recently . So , remember to flash your firmware the 2nd time to get rid of it completely

Even here itself in LYN , i know of a trader that sells Samsung phones slightly cheaper than others are selling BUT he's selling recon units as new . How do I know if u ask me ? does it matters if I create a new folder inside my external sd card and put the data files inside it? for example, I plan to put the data files inside "mnt / extsdcard / Games_data", will it have any errors or what?

Another I notice is, some of the games are in both data and obb folder. So I suppose I need to copy both. So can I mix both of the files and put it inside the one folder? o.O i.e. files inside the data and obb when bind, i put it in one folder.

how long would they take to fix your phone tho if they were to change your motherboard?

First..see if you phone can go into download mode or not..?
- power off your phone.
- use three buttons combo (vol down + power + home button)
If can..then flash any official firmware.
If cannot..then try use usb jig (dont know whether can be use on S3 or not) to force your phone into download mode.

If still cannot after you try all this then had to bring to service centre edi.

is that an official SC service center? are u able to contact them directly?
as i know, i wanted to contact the service center on Federal Highway, the only way is to call to the call center and they will check my phone's status and see whether it is up for collection. i couldnt contact the SC directly

Yeah, first time doing this and I'm jammed. I didn't tell them anything. Just said I couldn't get my screen to on, and then the fella just kept my phone and said will send the phone to SC for me. After 3 days called me and say Samsung quoted them RM750 for change of motherboard. Apparently they found out that my phone has been rooted.

hah, how the hell they can say that if they cant even turn on the phone? that must mean they turn it on, do you have the phone in your hand right now? or is it in their hand? grab it back first, and then try to make it go to download mode, volume down + home + power button, if can get into that mode, everything going to be alright,

if you cant go into that mode, lets try with USB JIG, if still cant then lets take it to the federal highway SC, lets not go to these shopping mall shop, i couldnt tell if they really samsung SC or just shop with samsung letters

Yes I read that if the screen can't turned on they won't be able to detect. But apparently they can access the download mode. So that's how they found out. That's why I'm trying to get the phone back first.
The phone is with them now. Can only get back on Friday the latest.
