Hi u ols. I am graduating student of Manufacturing Engineering. I've been 'stalking' this thread for months. So, i am about to finish my study in this June. Planning to start work in July ( no holiday 'goyang2 kaki' at home).
I've once completed my internship in a local subcontractor company which involved in oil and gas industry. So, i also planning to start my career in oil and gas industry also since i know a little bit how the business is going on. Just wanna ask to all otai2 here, is it possible manufacturing engineering student to work in O&g field? Which line of careers as engineers do u all can suggest to me? Thanks |

QUOTE(rabloo @ May 20 2013, 01:18 AM) He was a technician working under manpower supply contract for Shell CSU team. I know his name and I know that he has 3 children.. The youngest is a 7 months old girl. You are right...for moment, just leave it to investigation team..It is very sad indeed. shell/misc/mmhe are still investigating the incident and are still waiting for the full report. (^__^) |

QUOTE(jafnm_04 @ May 20 2013, 01:37 PM) ya ya he mentioned about hydrogen sulfide.. it was me to pandai2 add cyanides. Light sweet, sweet (less H2S), sour crude (high H2S), but nowadays a lot of wells come with sour crude, Tapis is one of the best. Cakerawala, Condy, Kikeh, Kidurong, bla bla bla....but it seems that he is not affected badly by working offshore.. so far he has 7 children.. thumbs up. lot of money and lot of children. QUOTE(empire23 @ May 21 2013, 10:10 AM) Nah, I wouldn't say Eclipse or Petrel are very special tools as they're defacto for the OnG industry of course Emerson is the up and coming big boy here as Halliburton's Nexus isn't as popular. Any option for me to familiarise with it (amma fresh grad) so that I can touch up my resume? i can offer genuine friendship in return. |

What static/dynamic simulation platform were you trained in during uni? Did you use anything other geomodelling software and do you have basic geology under your belt? Most unis will train with RMS/Tempest/Enable (which is what I use in the office), I have a few tutorials for them here from Emerson. Do you have any experience with other forms of modeling software? Pro/E or ANSYS? |

Guys, I have a question. I've been working as seismic processing geophysicist for almost 5 years in an oil service company. I am thinking of joining the oil operator in the future.
Do you guys think, is that possible? because as far as I know most oil operator prefer geophysicist with intrepertation experience, while for me, I have zero knowledge about intrepertation How can I improve my chance to join the oil operator as a geophysicist? QUOTE(mangoman @ May 21 2013, 07:07 AM) Usually sweet crude, or light sweet is expensive compare to sour due to lower H2S and CO2. It's easy to process compare to sour where your need additional equipment to process it. Crude price usually use this sweet or light sweet as benchmark like Brent, WTI, Tapis etc. Yet, not many this type of crude in the world. Sum more, the fuel is cleaner as the content of H2S inside it very low at the beginning stage. Yet different crude has different ability to produce certain content. This one process guy or crude expert will evaluate it base on profit margin before they purchase it. (^__^) This post has been edited by nash9701: May 21 2013, 09:16 PM |
