which kind of engineer will require to go offshore only for a certain period? I mean, they might station in office or other places rather than offshore but will only require to go offshore for some work in a short period?

I have been offered an offshore position in SapuraKencana recently, and the position is contract-based for 1 year.  This will be my first job since I'm a fresh graduate. May I ask, how likely for sapura to absorb their contract workers as permanent? I'm quite worried as to what will happen after my contract ends.

Oh. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm with TL Geohydro. I'm quite curious about this geophysics position. From what I know, Sapura is not exactly an exploration company right? So, I guess I want to know about the prospect of being a geophysicist for long term in Sapura. Do they constantly need geophysicist or only for certain period of time when they got project that involves geophysicist?

Hi u in ols. I am graduating student of Manufacturing Engineering. I've been 'stalking' this thread for months. So, i am about to finish my study in this June. Planning to start work in July ( no holiday 'goyang2 kaki' at home).

I've once completed my internship in a local subcontractor company which involved in oil and gas industry.

So, i also planning to start my career in oil and gas industry also since i know a little bit how the business is going on. Just wanna ask to all otai2 here, is it possible manufacturing engineering student to work in O&g field? Which line of careers as engineers do u all can suggest to me?

Last time my friend working with Alstom, but then he quit (according to his wife) as need to travel alot base on project. Now working with Siemens if not mistaken. Pay quite high
