Use the Transfer My Data app. Just establish a BT connection with your iPhone and it'll take like 1-2 minutes. Really simple, however I found that the 'notes' area for my contacts were not transferred.

Sweet. I was googling and couldn't find any easy way. Using Google Contacts and Outlook.com does not really work. Those that use AES (Activesync Exchange) cannot merge contacts. It only works one way (i.e. from Hotmail to iPhone but not the other way around) so I cannot move my iPhoen contacts to Google/Hotmail Contacts. The only solution was to physically connect the iPhone and have iTunes syncs the contact to the computer yada yada yada .... malas nak buat.

Ridiculous pricing from Nokia. No wonder they are going out of business. They should learn from their low cost phone division.

The 16GB iPhone 5 will cost RM2290, the 32GB iPhone 5 will be 2690, the Lumia 920 has a better camera, wireless charging and better screen. If Nokia sells it for RM2200, it's a steal.

Allow me to say my peace.

You cannot, sorry, you can compare it that way but you should not. Certain sports cars without a lot of accessories, features and even air-cond are sold for an arm and a leg but some full specs Japanese cars go for sometimes only 20% of those cars. This is the real world and when you are in demand, you command a high price bracket but when you are not in that same league, no matter how good your phone (or other commodities for that matter) is, you just cannot price it too high, relatively.

Nokia in this case is trying to make a comeback and my personal view is that their main priority at this juncture is to build back their customer loyalty by getting the numbers. How? Make every effort for all and sundry to use their phones. How? Sell them at a relatively low price. Then, when that objective is achieved, gradually move the price bracket. By then, consumers are already with you cause they know you have good products and will not mind the prices.

Regardless, WP8 does support USSD, so no worries there. This can be confirmed in the SDK.

Yup, an iPhone 16GB can be sold at 2.8K and no one would even blink.

Better camera & screen for sure but these won't cost way too much to produce. These aren't AMOLED screen which is well known as expensive screen.Lumia 900 only have the wireless inductive.Again, the hardware won't be that expensive. The heavy lift for the wireless charging is done by the wireless charging station which is not included in retail package.Certainly Lumia is a premium product but I believe that the price should be fixed for RM2K.Nokia won't be selling this phone for a cheap price because they are trying to change US & number of european customers perception that Nokia only sell cheap stuff.

About the aspire's situation, let's be civil here shall we? Comparing multiple devices is fine but don't go overboard.Always remember this is a Windows Phone thread where WP users want reviews & solution for their device related problem.Different hardware & OS have their own advantage & disadvantage. If we really want to go for it it'll be an endless war.
I always loved the N900 & N9's threads. We kept the thread very technical & pleasant.New owners can just come in & search for the info they need without getting lost in rubbish post.Remember that this kind of flame war attitude that caused admin to suspend the post count & ban users last time.
I hope this will be the end of the whatever product is the best.If you have the absolute best phone in the world pm me instead.I'm looking for 1.

I guess I am just comparing it with the iPhone 4s that I have which cost me close to RM3K when I bought it in January. Nokia has a lot of balancing act it has to do. I do believe that if Nokia were to price it too low, then there is the perception that it is a non-quality product. It also has to satisfy its shareholders and with the current cash reserve that is probably less then when they started on the Windows Phoen bandwagon, they really can't be taking a loss (or too much loss). For a guy like me who can afford it and someone who really loves buying these gadgets, I personnaly feel that RM2050 (I am paying that amount from Nokia Saudi) is cheap as hell. The only phone that I ever bought that was cheaper than 2K is the N8 which I promptly sold after 7 months. Then again, that's me personally.

There will always be people who complains etc. If Nokia were to price it at 1500, there will be people who complains that it's too expensive and it should be priced at 1K etc, so where do you draw the line? It is selling for 700 AUD in Australia, close to 520 pounds in UK and above 700 Euros in EU countries. The cheapest price I've seen is the off contract prices from AT&T at USD450 and that is off contract and not factory unlocked. Is the Malaysian market that big that Nokia should give us an exception to price their product below what everyone else in the world is paying? I can see them doing it in China and the US but I doubt Malaysia has the same clout.

Its all about the timing. Want to buy cheaper, wait 6 months la.

Just to correct you slightly, devices sold at AT&T off contract remains locked.

You're right about drawing a line. There will always be people who would complain. People keep forgetting that Nokia exists as a business entity, not a charity foundation. Sure, slashing price / selling cheap may make good sense gaining user base, but at what cost? They have staff to feed. They have managers to feed. They have shareholders to feed. They need to pay for the next R&D. If they produce something with so much R&D and it's not giving any returns, then why do business?

Sometimes, you don't need to have a huge market share to survive. Sometimes, all you need is a successful niche. Nokia has done a terrific job thus far, so let's give credits where it's due.

To everyone who's complaining expensive, well, at such price, people still buy, and believe it or not, even those who complained when the prices were revealed, bought.

But of course, pricing has to be fair, and everyone has its set of fair value. So like azraeil said, where to draw the line? I believe if it's around 2k, that's pretty much justified.

This is consitent with HK which is around RM2250 so expect the prices in Malaysia to be around the same price point. If the device is carried by carriers, you can also expect the price to be lowered but off course there's the contract and the monthly commitment.

The exclusive carrier here (Mobily) is selling it for SAR1699 (around RM1380) for a one year contract with a minimum commitment of SAR99 (80 ringgit) per month.

Same here. I'm guilty of gadget lust also and I've been upgrading my iPhone every year and from 3Gs to iPhone 45 to iPhone 4s ... now after 4 years, the ecosystem is boring ..... seriously I'm bored with it .... now going for the Lumia 920 instead of the iPhone 5.

As for the news you read, the offer was for commitment free EE in UK going for GBP399 with a FREE wireless charger (GBP39.99) thrown in.
