You can never go wrong with Dell's U2312HM at RM579 brows.gif

Excellent screen quality and after sales service, definitely worth every single ringgit biggrin.gif

Yea I need a HDMI output for my PS3,
Would the quality of the screen differs if I use a VGA HDMI adapter vs hdmi input ready monitor like S2340L?

Yeap

If you use a VGA to HDMI adapter, itll still be in analog signal instead of in digital signal of HDMI.. Just that changed to fit with VGA signal. Extra fact, analog signal degrades over distance while digital signal dont.

But imo, there isnt much difference in quality actually, besides the inability for VGA to transmit audio signals. There is a diff in quality, but i cant seem to discern it in my case

U2312HM no HDMI port ?

I have gadgets that have HDMI ports and I wish to connect it to monitor occasionally, so this model not suitable for my usage ?

Yea, from my link above at Dell Malaysia, they say no HDMI port

Well if you dont mind using a HDMI adapter, you can stick to the U2312HM. If not, try looking at Dell's S series monitors. But of course some may like or dislike the glossy screens for S Series monitors

So, Dell has announced their new higher end 24" and 27" monitors to replace U2410 and u2711

Much like the newly announced 24" model, this will offer an extended colour gamut with 99% Adobe RGB coverage, and 120% sRGB. This looks to be using the latest generation of AH-IPS panel from LG.Display which we've been waiting for for many months now (likely the LM270WQ3).

Like the new 24" model this screen seems to be aimed more at professional and higher end colour critical work. Along with the wide gamut support the screen comes factory calibrated with a deltaE of <2, offers 6-axis colour adjustment, 10-bit colour support (1.07b colours - again likely 8-bit + FRC) and features a programmable hardware 14-bit LUT. An optional X-rite i1 Display Pro colorimeter can be included as well to allow for full calibration of the screen.

This seems to be a significant change in direction from many of the other UltraSharp screens we have seen of late, and looks to be a replacement for the U2711. Dell will of course have the U2713HM available for more "mainstream" users but this model will offer higher end specs and features for colour critical work and professional uses.

In terms of other specs the screen offers a 6ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio (2 million:1 DCR), 350 cd/m2 brightness (max) / 50 cd/m2 brightness (min) and 178/178 viewing angles. The screen features an AH-IPS panel which operates at 60Hz refresh rate. The spec states the screen features an anti-glare coating, and let's hope this is as light as we saw on the recent 27" U2713HM model. The backlight is W-LED based but of the newer type with wider gamut coverage.

The screen features DL-DVI (HDCP), HDMI, DisplayPort 1.2 and mini-DisplayPort video connections. There is also an integrated 4 port USB 3.0 hub, with 2 located on the left hand edge of the screen as shown above. There is also a multi-function card reader on the left hand edge. The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments as well which we have become accustomed to seeing on the UltraSharp models. The screen remains VESA compliant for wall-mounting as well if required. The OSD control buttons are touch-sensitive as well unlike on the U2713HM.

On Dell's Chinese website the screen retails for the equivalent of ~£897 GBP or $1445 USD. These prices may well vary when the screen officially appears in other markets though and remember the screen is aimed more at high end, professional users than the U2713HM was, which will still be available along side this U2713H.

Hi, I need recommendation for 20inch led monitor, I have roughly survey the price among brands and all price under rm300+-

Mostly use to photoshop and movie.

Colours for Photoshop are important. I know I should look at IPS series.. but that's not in my budget.

For about RM300, it's gonna be roughly the same for most brands. You don't get the extra spices that comes with the more expensive models in the range of RM600 and above.... So just pick from specs should be just fine smile.gif

Photoshop? I suggest you get from Cyntrix Tech iirc he does colour calibrate the monitor if you purchase a monitor from him. However, if you gonna cari makan or really really serious with whatever work you need with Photoshop, I highly suggest you get a proper colour calibrator like those from Spyder (which costs around RM400++) and calibrate your monitor every week or so.

Hey guys, need some help here in choosing in between Asus VS239N and Samsung S23B350H.

These two are in my budget and is available in where I live. At first I was leaning towards the asus due to it being and IPs panel. However the 14ms response times sort of turn me down.

Can anyone give me some opinion in which should I go for? I'll mainly be using the monitor for gaming, movies, some occational photo editing.

Thanks guys.
