hi would like to ask, among all these brands.. which would be the best bang for buck 20" monitors?
1) BenQ GL2055 at RM299 2) LG E2041T (LED) at RM325 3) Samsung S20B300B (LED) at RM325 4) AOC E2051F (LED) at RM349 5) Acer S200HL (LED) at RM309 (prices quoted from All IT) also, i would like to know some feedbacks abt the product quality too This post has been edited by marfccy: Sep 3 2012, 09:40 PM |

QUOTE(lex @ Sep 3 2012, 10:00 PM) If bang-per-buck then of course choose the cheapest one, BenQ in that list. Other candidates are Acer S200HL LED (RM299) and BenQ G2025HD (RM279), prices are from Viewnet. Make sure the monitors you are going to buy has DVI input... All of them have VGA and DVI output. But is the brand BenQ reliable? Cos i would like something that can last at least 3 years without breaking downFor the feedbacks, you will have to wait for people who have bought those monitors to comment here... If no one purchased it before then ill ask which brand would be the most reliable one then I have two friends using Samsung monitors, they gave me good reviews. But of course ill try look for cheaper ones If money was no object id grab Dell instead |

QUOTE(lex @ Sep 4 2012, 11:28 PM) I think I've mentioned before about the good apple and bad apple analogy when it comes to longevity. Very much depends on your luck actually. Similar to dead pixels (factory defect)... So ended up ill have to hope not to get a lemon unit Even if you bought a Samsung monitor, the panel itself may not be Samsung. As I've fixed lots of LCD monitors before, Samsung monitors also uses panels from AUO, Chi Mei, ChungHwa, Hannstar, etc. If money was no objection, you would be looking to grab 30-inch Apple Cinema Display... hmm true.. the panels may not be from samsung itself pergh This post has been edited by marfccy: Sep 5 2012, 01:58 AM |

QUOTE(VoltGadget @ Sep 27 2012, 12:06 AM) i wouldnt say quality lower, samsung price higher cos i heard they say they use diff panel than the usual TN panels. (sorry no SOS for this cos cant rmb where i read it from)but in terms of vs against IPS, i'd say IPS is still winner. add in with Dell's after sales support, lagi worth the money to buy Dell's monitors |

QUOTE(guanchung @ Oct 14 2012, 02:36 PM) i take Sony led tv 3d 40inch whare to check PPI(pixels per inch) i did find sony tv still no found PPIĀ theres a formula to calculate PPI, but i cant rmb. Again, TVs are usually limited to 1920x1080p resolutions, which gives you 2013600 pixels. the more pixels on the screen, the better in summary, higher PPI means better, clearer pictures, and pixels are not noticeable which gives the screen a sharper image than blocky ones but im not saying using TV as a monitor is bad.. just that when trying to view texts only is bad. youll be straining your eyes alot. in terms of gaming, no difference unless youre squinting right in front of the screen xD This post has been edited by marfccy: Oct 14 2012, 03:58 PM |

QUOTE(BeastX @ Oct 14 2012, 04:48 PM) Added on October 14, 2012, 5:17 pm Not quite true... a 40" 1080p or 23" 1080p is more of a matter of distance to the display and weather you have limited eye focusing range. a 40 inch is for a wider audience enjoyment (family).... while a 23" may be just limited to 1.... This is a rough analogy (with good eyesight) What you can see with 20" and 3 feet equals to 40" at 6 feet, meaning if you can seen 1000 text (equally with both) Like how TVs are used for med distance usage and monitors are close distance usage. But ive seen before people displaying texts on TVs. Its very pixelated and small as its been stretched |

QUOTE(mrkenn @ Oct 20 2012, 12:01 AM) Guys. If mainly for heavy gaming, will i benefit a lot from ips panel monitor(Dell U2312HM) or should i just get dell 23 inches led monitor enough already? I have rm 600 budget. But of course, if can save more better. Of course get the Dell U2312H tq I doubt there will be ghosting unless you have extremely sharp eyes xD Added on October 20, 2012, 5:51 am QUOTE(blacktubi @ Oct 20 2012, 12:37 AM) Getting a second monitor. Dont think so, but maybe the difference in the slimness may affect Will U2312HM looks weird with the new IPS S2340L. Right now my old acer second monitor got lines already This post has been edited by marfccy: Oct 20 2012, 05:51 AM |

QUOTE(TongCN @ Oct 26 2012, 09:03 AM) Guys, recently just got a mini DP > DP port from ebay. even if its monitor problem, call Dell ask for replacement.Last night tried it between my M14X and U2312HM. At first it was ok. After that, the screen will start flickering then in the end, non-stop. Then I googled and found quite a number of this case happened to Dell's ultra sharp monitor. Now not sure whether is the cable prob or monitor >.< im sure as Dell, there wont be any replacement problems |
