QUOTE(IceBikers @ Dec 7 2012, 02:25 PM) Hi, I need recommendation for 20inch led monitor, I have roughly survey the price among brands and all price under rm300+- For about RM300, it's gonna be roughly the same for most brands. You don't get the extra spices that comes with the more expensive models in the range of RM600 and above.... So just pick from specs should be just fine Mostly use to photoshop and movie. Colours for Photoshop are important. I know I should look at IPS series.. but that's not in my budget. Photoshop? I suggest you get from Cyntrix Tech iirc he does colour calibrate the monitor if you purchase a monitor from him. However, if you gonna cari makan or really really serious with whatever work you need with Photoshop, I highly suggest you get a proper colour calibrator like those from Spyder (which costs around RM400++) and calibrate your monitor every week or so. |

I'm still contemplating whether or not to splurge RM700 on a Spyder 4 pro colour calibrator tool or not

QUOTE(MitsuStorm @ Jan 18 2013, 09:42 AM) Guys i have the budget of RM500 max. The cheaper the better. For photo editing....serious, cari makan or casual ?I narrowed my choice to LG 21.5 IPS LED Monitor IPS4 Series IPS224T Full HD = Rm420 and VIEWSONIC 23' LED MONITOR (VX2336S-LED) IPS = Rm490 Which one is the better choice? both have the slow 14ms respond. I seldom gaming but sometimes dota 2 n battlefield. But mostly i do photo editing. Some say get the 22" higher density pixel, some say bigger is better for monitor size. Thank you If serious photo editing work, you should be most concerned with colour accuracy of your monitor. I suggest you colour calibrate your monitor to get the most accurate colour reproduction your monitor can achieve. You can get something like a Spyder4 Pro or a Color Munki colorimeter from Shashinki: http://shashinki.com/shop/datacolor-spyder...ter-p-9875.html There's no point putting so much effort into editing when first of all, your monitor is displaying all the wrong colours. What's worst is the printing process, you'll notice a huge difference and there comes the headache |

QUOTE(MitsuStorm @ Jan 20 2013, 07:17 AM) Cr mkn also. Hahaha. Yeah been thinking about the calibration. But the price of the devices really really expensive. Thanks anyway Check my siggy QUOTE(Fallen_Afh @ Jan 20 2013, 08:18 PM) No clue what those mean. Yes I am that clueless Glossy is the shiny shiny screen like you see in iMac displays. it's reflective so you can see your own reflection update. Did some research (google google google) on the topic. I'll be primarily playing late at night so would glossy be okay? Also what does lowyat (I know not a hivemind) suggest? QUOTE(antoniov @ Jan 20 2013, 09:29 PM) Hai guys may i ask. Can human eyes actually see the difference when gaming with 1600x900 on a 20 inches monitor vs gaming with full hd reso 1920x1080 on a 23 inches monitor? Is it noticeable? Depends on the viewing distance and PPI (Pixels per Inch) which are both inter-related |

QUOTE(Fallen_Afh @ Jan 21 2013, 07:23 PM) Matte it is then. IPS panels have better colour reproduction... Also regarding IPS and TN panel, based on my 5 minute googling most people prefer IPS because of the bigger viewing angle. Since I'll be the only one using that monitor, should i just go for TN panel since its cheaper? |

QUOTE(Sadru @ Mar 26 2013, 02:32 PM) hi guys, U2413 I think almost close to RM2k or something. It's of a totally different standard, a much higher quality panel. Something like 100% sRGB, 99% AdobeRGB could anyone tell me the best for my option? i was looking for an IPS monitor and this stuck me quite good. my plan is to use it for photo editing and secondary gaming Choices: U2312hm + spyder calibrator = around rm900? U2412M = around 900? or wait for U2413? thank you If you're looking at the Spyder4 Express, it goes for RM400+, Spyder4 Pro goes for RM600+ Downside of the Express version is that you can only use it on ONE computer and there's no ambient light detector. Anyway, no need to get calibrator la, just find me will do QUOTE(Sadru @ Mar 27 2013, 10:14 AM) wuah u2413 cost more than 2k?? I'd go for the U2412M for the extra vertical pixels (1920X1200) which can be helpful when displaying/editing vertical oriented pictures fainted. so which is the best for buck? u2312 or u2412? both an IPS screen. or is there any other viable choice for IPS from other brand around that range? thank you This post has been edited by -kytz-: Mar 28 2013, 12:07 PM |

QUOTE(jason111785 @ Apr 1 2013, 12:35 PM) planning to get a 27" monitor since my samsung T240 KO'ed. U2713 is more for like professional use, people looking for the best tool for colour management work (photographers, videographers, designers, etc). You're getting 100% sRGB and 99% Adobe RGB, both are almost the maximum colour space for each type Looking at eithet dell S2704L or U2713.. I know both are different range.. Practically I will use the LCD for HD movies, PS3, MMO and heavy office workload (power point). Question is, since U2713 is on 2560 x 1440, how does it like when playstation 3 is hooked onto it? 720p and 1080p gaming. Black bars? or downscale? Btw, I think the U2713 is around RM3k? For 27" you can always opt for cheaper panels, such as the S2704L, a Viewsonic monitor I just saw...around RM1k also, Catleap IPS 27" 1600p at around RM1.4k, etc |

QUOTE(jason111785 @ Apr 2 2013, 12:16 AM) You would have to see it for yourself actually. PPI will definitely be lower than a 1080p on a 23" but you must take viewing distance into account also. If you sit far away, you might not notice the difference than when you're seating closer to the screen Anyway, I remember seeing my friend's 27" 1080p monitor from like a 2 feet distance, still looks ok |

QUOTE(xXAaronXx @ Apr 20 2013, 12:54 AM) Wanna ask about Dell return policy cause I got problem adjusting myself to this Dell 2740L. Like 1 member say its really glaring for me when the screen brightness is to high but when lower down especially got dark area scene I totally cannot see anything but my own reflection. Ask got ppl here using this LG 277L Monitor? Can't find review on the Internet. That is why I always avoid glossy screens |

QUOTE(mohdazuan @ May 19 2013, 02:19 PM) it is about resolution, not just size. Ehh bro, there are a lot of 1080p 32" HDTV okay?32" TV is based on 1360x768 or 1366x768 since it is a TV. it has large pixel pitch and user are watching it with an appropriate distance. while 27" inch MONITOR are based on 1920x1080 which still has quite big pixel pitch and some 'rigid' gamers choose this type of resolution and this type of size to play a game with some distance. while normal desktop/workstation monitor has 27" with 2560x1440 resolution which has small size of pixel pitch and user can use it with 1-2 feet distance from eyes without seeing too much pixelated images. |

QUOTE(Ulysses @ May 19 2013, 06:00 PM) guys..just want to ask..is there any monitor that has the best accurate colour? i mean..when i look compare the same wallpaper on monitor n my note8.0, seems very differs... colour on monitor very faded. =.= Accurate colours does not equate to the over saturated AMOLED screens typically found in Samsung devices. White balance is another huge problem as the whites in most Samsung AMOLED appear very brownish whereas in laptops, it's the opposite, very bluish. My Dell monitor was more greenish instead but solved by using a pro colour calibrator. Now the colors are damn accurate and professional prints came out perfectlywonder if there monitor capable produce colour like amoled on S4. |

QUOTE(Zhao @ May 23 2013, 12:40 AM) guys, is u2711 or 2913 a great monitor for my usage? You should get yourself a colour calibration tool like Spyder Pro/Xrite Pro if you want a good colour management workflow. No point having a good monitor and all but it's not calibrated right i am using it for photo editing/video editing and gaming and mostly FHD movie. basically connected with my laptop. |
