QUOTE(clearcase @ Oct 13 2012, 02:05 PM) but but the new S series made me contemplating Been using the s2340l for a few days. Very nice monitor. The good thing about this monitor is that although the bezel isn't invisibly thin, you will spend more time looking at the screen and games without being bothered too much by the frame.Gorgeous glossy screen like the Apple Cinema Display haha U & S series aren't really better or worse, they are different. Not everybody cares for the features of the monitor. Heck, not many rotate their monitor into pivot mode. |

QUOTE(guanchung @ Oct 14 2012, 02:36 PM) i take Sony led tv 3d 40inch whare to check PPI(pixels per inch) i did find sony tv still no found PPIÂ theres a formula to calculate PPI, but i cant rmb. Again, TVs are usually limited to 1920x1080p resolutions, which gives you 2013600 pixels. the more pixels on the screen, the better in summary, higher PPI means better, clearer pictures, and pixels are not noticeable which gives the screen a sharper image than blocky ones but im not saying using TV as a monitor is bad.. just that when trying to view texts only is bad. youll be straining your eyes alot. in terms of gaming, no difference unless youre squinting right in front of the screen xD This post has been edited by marfccy: Oct 14 2012, 03:58 PM |

Not quite true... a 40" 1080p or 23" 1080p is more of a matter of distance to the display and weather you have limited eye focusing range.Again, TVs are usually limited to 1920x1080p resolutions, which gives you 2013600 pixels. the more pixels on the screen, the better in summary, higher PPI means better, clearer pictures, and pixels are not noticeable which gives the screen a sharper image than blocky ones but im not saying using TV as a monitor is bad.. just that when trying to view texts only is bad. youll be straining your eyes alot. in terms of gaming, no difference unless youre squinting right in front of the screen xD a 40 inch is for a wider audience enjoyment (family).... while a 23" may be just limited to 1.... This is a rough analogy (with good eyesight) What you can see with 20" and 3 feet equals to 40" at 6 feet, meaning if you can seen 1000 text (equally with both) This post has been edited by BeastX: Oct 14 2012, 05:17 PM |

But ive seen before people displaying texts on TVs. Its very pixelated and small as its been stretched |

Hi Guys,
Regarding the LG LED monitor that i purchased last week, I have issue with it if Im using HDMI input (previously I was using VGA cable bcoz i havent bought HDMI cable). So after I got my HDMI cable, I plugged it in and the result is not what I really expected. The screen just got worse compared to using VGA in the sense of I dont get full screen display even though my desktop screen resolution is set as 1920x1080 but if i changed back to VGA input then yes, I got back my full screen display with the same screen reso 1920x1080. I mean, what the heck is wrong with the HDMI cable? Is there any extra settings that I need to set? Or the HDMI cable is faulty ? Please advice Thanks ![]() VGA left HDMI right Note that in the picture, with VGA it is full screen display where with HDMI there is a gap. QUOTE(ego3nity @ Oct 15 2012, 10:50 PM) Hi Guys, HDMI detects your display as HDTVs and most HDTVs have overscan enabled by default I think so that is why your monitor is underscanned. Maybe you could adjust the scaling on your gpu control panel or try changing to DVI.Regarding the LG LED monitor that i purchased last week, I have issue with it if Im using HDMI input (previously I was using VGA cable bcoz i havent bought HDMI cable).
