If you compare the size, Dell 30" monitor has higher resolution than TV.

monitor pixel & tv pixel are different... tv pixel is not suitable for those browsing, text font (Word). U can try. while pc monitor is designed to do the job.

Totally new model, and it won't supersede the U2711, it's of different league.
U2713HM probably has the same panel as the U2312HM and U2412M, it just got bigger display and it come with USB 3.0 Hub, added 1 HDMI which is a great plus, definitely a good addition for entry 27" IPS monitor. thumbup.gif
But, will still need to wait for professional reviews regards few points, such as back light bleed, true pixel response time, input lag and viewing angles. wink.gif

I'm currently using the U2412M, and was thinking to go for something bigger. But guess I'll wait for 30" for upgrade perhaps ;-). Hopefully there will be a cheaper IPS version of the Dell 30" soon.

Your 9600GT will display resolution higher than 1920x1080 iinm because I have 9500GT and it can display those resolution with no problem. But, since you're running high resolution, it may affect your gaming experience.

Yes it will, IF your OLD laptop's graphic adapter supports full HD resolution.

You're wrong. U2713 comes with AH-IPS panel which is not the same as e-IPS on U2312 and U2412. To call it an entry level isn't right.

hey guys,

want to ask this. i have purchased this Dell ST2320L LED monitor and will be expecting to arrive today but i have one question here. I noticed that in this picture below, there are 2 plug in. They are audio plug in? So if i hook up my ps3 with HDMI, i can plug in my speaker into the plug in and my speaker got sound after that?

Actually what are the advantages of IPS other than better viewing angles? Sharper image?

LOL my bad, haven researched the panel, only compared the price tag doh.gif
Anyway, looking at the review shows that it does has potential for graphical usage compared to U2312HM or U2412M, but the input lag might draw some gamers away.
Movies will be nice, since the response time is almost identical to its older sibling, just few ms slower shouldn't be really noticeable. wink.gif

Viewing angles, yes, sharper image? Erm, what do you mean by sharper image? Or do you mean it has better colour? sweat.gif

IPS has better colour reproduction and viewing angles compared to TN/VA panels.
