QUOTE(marfccy @ Aug 23 2012, 03:28 PM) anyone have experiences using AOC monitors? i'd like to know some feedbacks im using AOC..aoc e2243fw2k. not bad for a tn panel, high contrast ratio.. if u play fast paced game like crysis2, mw3, mw2, u will love the feel, vibrant colours due to 2ms & 50m contrast ratio This post has been edited by Ulysses: Aug 25 2012, 05:34 PM

QUOTE(cyberkid @ Aug 26 2012, 03:44 PM) I have 1 question, now the Samsung 32" LED tv only costs only around rm900, why do u guys still opt for Led monitor ya? Any advantages of monitor over tv ? monitor pixel & tv pixel are different... tv pixel is not suitable for those browsing, text font (Word). U can try. while pc monitor is designed to do the job.

QUOTE(lex @ Sep 2 2012, 10:34 PM) This one is usually the power supply section, usually badcaps. But the "pop" sounds could be from the backlight section (again possible badcaps). This one is usually easy to fix. If you want, the just ask/PM me... I've used quite a number of monitors already, though mostly from Acer and BenQ ones, and a few Samsungs. My current one, BenQ FP222W has been running fine (already 5 years). Usually I tend to stick to known big/established brands, rather than going for less known ones like Envision, Proview, IIyama, Planar, VHO, etc. Hardware support is pretty important for LCD monitor. As many has mentioned/recommended here, bigger than 20" would be Dell UltraSharp U2312HM... ur 5 years old benq, does its white turn yellowish?

QUOTE(lex @ Sep 3 2012, 01:19 PM) Nope, still white with no hint of yellowish at all. But its not as bright or as "whitish" as before though. At least it was not reddish (for your information, reddish is usually an indicator of failing CCFL). Mine uses AUO panel (opened up before) while I've seen other FP222W monitors with Chi Mei panels (and different layout internally). Talking about white, my ancient Acer AL1717 is truly paper white (talking about brand new paper color) despite its age. Even my other monitor, Acer H233H (with Samsung panel) cannot match the older Acer monitor when it comes to white. nice to see that ur Acer AL1717 maintains its colour.. i guess what is the factor that make it able to retain its colour despite its age? mine previous lcd before quite yelowish, that i can't stand anymore, & let it go.

QUOTE(lex @ Sep 3 2012, 06:37 PM) Could be the CCFL used as well as the material used for refraction and diffusion layers. Usually when CCFL goes bad, you'll see reddish (sometime orange or ocre) tint as well as flickering (and in worse cases flashing). Anyway, what's your previous LCD brand/model? compaq w185q. cheap TN ccfl model.. so, is this yellowish thing happens on ips?

QUOTE(BeastX @ Sep 26 2012, 05:37 PM) budget IPS vs premium IPS.... it's the panel quality... There the budget IPS 24" (1920x1200) at around RM800... U2412M more exact, its different type of ips panel.

WTA
U2713HM 27" vs U2913WM 29"
why u2713 is much expensive? bcause of the extra pixel on height? (2560 x1440 vs 2560x1080)
i thought that AH-ips in u2913 is better than ips in u2713

QUOTE(mrkenn @ Dec 21 2012, 04:17 AM) Guys wanna ask. 21.5 inches full hd monitor vs 23 inches full hd monitor. When gaming, is it that i can see more things on the 23 inches screen? or just the same as both have the same reso which is 1920x1080. anyone can answer my curiosity? u can't see more things.it is the same resolution, means it contains the same number of pixels. im using 1920x1080 on 21.5inch.. is just the same thing as 1920x1080 on 23inch, just that, 23inch has larger display. =.=

QUOTE(mrkenn @ Dec 21 2012, 07:34 PM) So the resolution determines how much things i can see on the screen. Not the screen size right?(The higher the resolution, the more things i can see on a screen) So, Even a 27 inches monitor with 1920x1080 resolution, i will see the same amount of things on a 23 inches 1920x1080 monitor as well.Unless the 27 inches monitor has a higher resolution like 2560 x 1440 then only i can see more things right? But then, what's the purpose of opting a bigger display(like 23 inches instead of 21.5 inches display) when both of them display the same amount of things on the screen? yep, u got it. about opting 23 inches vs of 21.5 inches, im not sure why. but, the pixels are small at 21.5 inch, while bigger at 23inch. so, it comes to personal preferences maybe... pardon me if im wrong.

Added on December 30, 2012, 7:50 amQUOTE(marfccy @ Dec 28 2012, 04:51 PM) i do, great monitor. working well so far since Sept no problems at all only setback is the flimsy stand, slight knock to the table and the monitor shake like no tmrw same with AOC razor lineup... quite wobble when table shaking...though it has pretty good display among TN market.
