With all due respect, Owen still know where the goal post is, although he may be confused about playing for us or against us. LOL.

We may need to put a clause that says "fine $100k for each own goal". biggrin.gif

As Lawrenson has pointed out, my opinion is Owen is only playing for money now. If we offered him a pay per goal or pay per play contract, pretty sure he would choose Stoke over us. For a club as big as Liverpool and for a local lad who was a Hero to all Scousers, playing for a rival is a big big taboo so crossing the divide to play for the Manures was the last straw. What's worse is you are now telling me we are gonna take him back right after his Manure stint. This traitor went to them called them the greatest club and when he got dumped we are gonna take him back?! Hell NO!

If Drogba sounds too far fetched then perhaps Anelka would be the cheaper alternative but he might still have a grudge for us.

Absolutely understand how you feel about Owen! When a player becomes a shining star at 17, everything gets into your head and when he (supposedly) has a gambling habit, that's when the dark side creeps in and takes over (hehe..pardon the star wars innuendo).

Going by what Henry said in his letter, a deal with Owen seems unlikely. Unfortunately, both Anelka and Drogba are contracted and again, I don't think Henry would agree to pay for either of these 30 something..

I think until January, BR will have to make do with what we now have + our reserves (Morgan & co.).

We don't have much choice. The board (according to news) has put the club in this situation, where we will have to seek for alternate strike force.

Whether Owen play for money or not, who else is not? Torres is not? Man City folks are not? Come on..even our club also didn't want to pay because of money. So, I don't mind. He will be like a servant, pay and play.

As long as it is good for the club, I really don't mind whoever joining. I think compare to relegation zone, I'd prefer Owen to come back and be a backup to our strike force until January. Then we will see how true is our owner about the letter.

By the way, about Drog and Anelka:

This Is Anfield ‏@thisisanfield
Dear all, Nicolas Anelka, Didier Drogba and Ivan Klasnic are NOT free agents. Please stop talking about them.

Please not Owen. Too many burnt bridges and he wasn't even good enough for the mancs , a team that could actually play some football. Our team is currently going through a transition, lots of bumpy road ahead and Owen will l struggle with us. And his fitness is questionable. This has Cole written all over it.

There has to be someone else.

I say promote the youngsters. Owen is a temporary measure. He'll not one last one full game before twisting a knee

Florent Sinama Pongolle seems like a better option if we want a former player..

Or pull a hamstring! tongue.gif Signing up Owen is a bad idea. He hasn't got it in him anymore. He's lost most of his pace and unless the service is providing him with tap-ins from 10-15 yards out, he won't provide the goals the club so desperately needs. Plus like someone else said, too many burnt bridges..

Pachecho was looking to leave, but no club wanted him.

Suso is in the reserves, just finished serving his 3 match ban

Regarding PAcheco, its quite strange that all our previous manager dont rate him at all. There must be something that we are missing, most probbly during training. Anyhoo, hope for the best sad.gif

Full time already 2-2

2 goals for Pelosi, 2 penalties for city. Scott Sinclair and Gareth Barry played for them.

He was jinxed after being named as future Romario. No more naming future who and who. It's bad juju.

The Times: "Liverpool are not going to sign any free transfers, Rodgers has been told he has to make do. FSG also believe it important to keep funds back to offer the option of making Nuri Sahin's signing permanent next Summer"

with how things are going, you think Sahin would like to stay permanently?FSG are a joke.
