What's the spec for the Gigabyte and Asus I wonder?
And what's that PCI-E card and he used on both Gigabyte and Asus board?
Are they skipping the hardware check to acquire faster boot time?

Just got my laptop back from RMA from HP. It was for a faulty micron C400 SSD. Now they replaced it with this:

Are these numbers okay?

LOL This mSATA SSD is so new that samsung itself disowned it in their website! I know this thing is currently quite rare and only released to manufacturers.

I ran Samsung's Magician utility and it doesn't even recognize it. laugh.gif

Hi all, just bought 128GB Samsung SSD from someone here, everything seems to work perfectly, OS installation, boot up etc. Just one thing, I'm using DELL 990SSF, before adding the SSD, the RAID screen never came up during boot, just an annoyance since it is working great. Couldn't seem to switch to AHCI, whenever I switch the BIOS, it just wouldn't boot. Did few tricks, fixing the BCD etc but won't budge. Anyway, TRIM is enabled when I checked, so all is okay I guess (or is it not?).

Err AHCI should be quite easy
Just enable AHCI driver & reboot the pc??

Not that easy, did that and I couldn't boot. I couldn't restore factory image to my SSD either, so I did a fresh installation and that requires me to call up Microsoft to activate the Win7Pro. I've boot up into command mode, using bootrec to fix boot record but it doesn't work either. I'm trying not to reinstall Win7 and if nothing can be done, I guess I just need to live with that little annoyance. Read about AHCI as subset of RAID, so I hope it is okay.

I think this result is not so impressive as if raid 0 the result will be 8XXMB/s ~ 9XXMB/s like that?

i thought you got the answer already.
When setting raid0 between SATA3 & SATA2, the SATA3 will be reduced to SATA2 speed that's why you get SATA2 x2 instead of SATA3 x2 speeds.

Well, if you want to check your SSD info, try to use CrystalDiskInfo to check the Smart status.
Or run "chkdsk /f" on command prompt, windows will check the bad sectors for you.
if both Smart status shows warning and windows found a bad sectors? back up your data first, although it may be a little too late, and of course RMA it tongue.gif

every pc components have a chance to fail, you can never tell when your pc is going to brick.

Hi. It is highly possible that you installed your OS with a different mode that is why you can't boot into AHCI mode now. I had this problem too and fixed it just a few hours ago lol. Not to worry , there's of course a fix.

Just rechecked the registry, the value is already set to 0. So, I believe AHCI has been set correctly.
