I had rusted and broken pipe from the tong before. the sound were different.

Well, my problem solved. Guess no one would have my problem before. Don't know how de heck or who put a small thin stainless steel washer INSIDE of my tire and everytime i drive slow especially... I will hear the 'ting ting ting' sound... Good too that it is not the drive-shaft else, a bigger damage already...

that fella who did it must be shot in the head nicely. i think he is trying to gimmick you to replace all the parts, then lastly only say 'oh, actually is due to the washer inside one of your tyre that is causing the noise'.

Tire bought and install at different shop so, the culprit is the tyre shop... no, it's my regular mech, he did not asked me to replace any parts... just diagnose the sound issue and took him almost half a day only to found out, it's the aluminium washer that is causing the sound... rclxub.gif

Hi kenarians!
hunting for a Kenari to be used by old parents. Somehow the dealers are selling 2005 much cheaper than private owners.

Private owners selling 15k for a 2003, but dealers selling 11.5k for a 2006. laugh.gif sweat.gif
and currently based in jb, so a bit hard to go up KL to check on the dealers car.

i have always bought 2nd hand car from direct owners so prefer direct owners.
although based on what i had read here, kenari main issue is on the aircond and engine mounting.

PM me if you know of any private owners selling at reasonable prices. Cash buyer.
Looking for at least 2003 facelifted...

Owners get attached to things and hence the prices they ask for are subject to their valuation of the object, not the market rate. Also, there's a good chance that a car from a dealer may need additional work (the two issues you mentioned are the common culprits here).

Klang's infamous 'kedai papan'...

My A/C koyak once after like 10years... never had mounting issues till now for a 10years old kenari... *phew~
As for A/C, make sure you service it regularly too and not until when A/C not cold, got sound etc only you went to the workshop...

Anyhow, it is a good daily beater ride... thumbup.gif

Vinod n radio, thanks for the feedback.
I would understand the attachment if the car fully converted to move , meticulously taken care and have full service record. Most of the time, its rare for a 10+yes car.

Taking the car AS-IS, in any case I would need to put away 2k spare for aircond, mounting, timing kit and maybe driveshaft.

Or 2000 8k direct which timing, mounting, is not replaced yet.

I don't think the first one is Aerosport as it looks identical to my car (regular EZi).

Unkle, vinod, yup just observed that its not an aero sport. Aerosport would have red meters and seats at least.

The curb damage is not visible on the 2nd pic.

I have seal the deal with the 2000 kenari. Will look n take on Sunday. Will spare money on the consumable stuff.

My kenari after munting changed , still feel vibration due to the rpm slightly below 1k. If rpm at 1 k, the car is ok. Any way to adjust to make the rmp higher as to avoid vibration ? Thank you

That's correct me too after 2-3 months a lots of things to be repaired. This is my list

1) Oil seal
2) Speedometer
3) Meter cable
5) Normal services (brake pad engine oil gearbox oil)
6) Alternator
7) Timing Belt

Thats why if you bought from the direct owner the price a bit expensive. Because they have change some of the parts.

My friend bought from direct owner Kenari 2003 cost 14k++ and all the parts new like timing belt just change, tyres still new and lots more.

I bought it about 12k++ but a lot of things to be repaired. So its up to you rclxub.gif

Hi guys,
Unfortunate to hear your kenari problems.

I hope the one I am getting is not that bad as current owner said servicing, break pad, battery done.

Hope it will just be a normal timing belt, water pump, atf change required for now. Will just use for a month first and observe to avoid multiple visit to mech. Anyway it is for parents usage. Already secured a trusted mech for servicing.

Yes, can't trust dealer agree. Hence why I did not make the travel to check all those cheap 2006s. Anyway I cheapo need a car <10k price.

Thanks for sharing. Will put a note on things that might go wrong.

Previous owned civic ej 4 door (wasted my money when young) > ek 2 door > savvy manual (worth every penny) > satria cyborg 1.6a just sold > kenari
(First time owning a perodua)

kk, congratulations on your acquisition of year 2000 Kenari EZI.
i too just got a similar blue one n am enjoying the new ride.
noticed the car already has the MYVI emkei 14" rims.
these would hve cost the previous owner rm400.
the car respray another rm1200 n you also hve a rear spoiler n a fairly new battery.
so at 8k, not a bad price.
timing belt change every 80k km. so you can wait till next cycle.
other items like water pump/engine mountings, change when required.
you may want to check the rubber seal of the front wind screen for leaks.
open up the carpets at the front driver/passenger floor. look for rust or damp patches.
had to change mine cos the water seeped in thru the hardened seal n corroded the floor.
you may want to apply generous amounts of armourall or son of a gun plastic protectant to the grey strips of the rear tail lights to bring back the black colour.
door visors are also useful to allow heat out of the car on a hot day with windows wound partially down.
see you around kl. smile.gif
