QUOTE(jaesern @ Mar 10 2014, 04:13 AM) it's both carbon deposit and engine oil. i guess you always keep your engine running without driving it? What's the difference between first gen kenari and facelift Kenari?don't mod. maintain it or sell it » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « that's because tonberry_ax's birdie is old version, the one among first gen, fc is bloody good compare to tommi88's '05 birdie, which is a facelifted version. muh_is's case is because engine is powerful |

Dear sifu,
I have tried to change my car aircond panel light to LED earlier, but then when I turned it on it turned off immediately. Now whenever I turn my light switch on, all the dashboard panel light including speedo meter lights would not on. Checked the fuse box but all the fuses are alright. Kindly advice me on what's wrong. Thank you. |

QUOTE(kengseng @ Mar 22 2014, 07:01 PM) Hi All, Hi kengseng,Want to ask all the kenari owner's here. My Kenari has clocked 307000KM and now is 8.5 years old and I have some questions to ask; 1) Is it necessary to get an engine overhaul for my car? 2) Planning to change my car spring and absorber is there any recommendation? Will plan to pair it will 14" sports rim as well 3) Is it possible to change our door trim the fabric portion ?? 4) How much to change the steering wheel as my stock one is worn out Welcome to Kenari club LYN. Referring to your first question, are there any problems with your engine now? How far can you go on full tank? For suspension, I am currently using GAB height adjustables sport suspension kit. Very good cornering feel and not as bumpy as I expected. Previously was using APM sport spring on my previous car (kancil) which was way more bumpier than my current ride. For the door trim, you may change it at any upholstery shop. Walk in and ask them for quotation. Steering wise, I think you can walk into any spare part shop and enquire. Should be about 100 ringgit for those without airbag. |

QUOTE(kengseng @ Mar 23 2014, 05:13 PM) Tommi.. Wow! thats good mileage given that your car has travelled 300k KM. I'd suggest to go for GAB as i am currently using it. More comfortable than APM. but this is personal reference. you gotta see what sort of ride would you like. More towards comfort or handling. For me i like something more balanced between comfort and handling. My car full tank still can go around 380KM full tank.. city driving ( Klang to KL ). Was thinking of GAB or APM... not sure which one is better. Car engine so far ok just not sure is the parts inside is consider worn out or not since is 300k km already... QUOTE(kengseng @ Mar 23 2014, 05:20 PM) So far.. If the engine does not consume engine oil, i think your engine should be in good condition. Dont touch anything unless there is anything wrong.2 x Engine Mounting 2 X Air Cond Condenser ( both also kena stone and leaking 1 x Air Cond Motor ( Blower ) 1 x Rear absorber 1 x Handbrake handle ( the button pecah and spring rosak ) Currently not working or having problem... Car central lock.. door gun spoiled cant lock all the doors but open can... Front wheel got hissing sound ( suspect wheel bearing kaput ) |

QUOTE(kengseng @ Apr 3 2014, 05:30 PM) kengseng, it was installed by the previous owner but im still keeping the official receipt from him. 1.2k for GAB from RS One Motorsport Kepong which is the official distributor for GAB suspension. I forgot which series but it is the semi adjustable one. it also comes with the rear adjustable kit to adjust the height so that it becomes fully adjustable for height. |

QUOTE(j1122 @ Apr 16 2014, 06:09 AM) did he provide engine transplant as well? What engine do you plan to plonk into your engine bay? If you're going for L9 turbo, I think is better you maintain the original engine and make it better such as doing stage 1 modifications. Power wise between L9 turbo and our faithful EJ-DE is the torque delivery. HP wise is almost identical. Unless you're going to plonk K3-VET, then that is a totally different story all together. In the end, your budget is the one who decides everything.Im in dilemma with either go for engine transplant or refurbish my 1.0 engine that needs new engine mounting, new oil /flywheel seal and timing belt My engine is going strong though, but lacks kick nor underpower when car has passenger Underpowered I think is compensable when you're carrying passengers. 3 cylinder engine needs to be revved to get going. |

QUOTE(kengseng @ Apr 19 2014, 11:17 AM) I'm also thinking of changing to K3-VE2 engine... but worry about maintenance and so forth. BTW what's stage 1 medication? QUOTE(j1122 @ Apr 19 2014, 12:27 PM) Im thinking with the k3ve na, which should be sufficient for my needs, but then the price is not much different when compare to the k3vet And the halfcut is not cheap, where you can get blacktop 6speed with the same price you paid for ae series Btw, what stage one mod you mentioned? Well, if you're looking for K3-VE, then i think it is a good idea to mod. if you want easy maintenance, go for NA instead of turbo. unless you have the $$$ to maintain them. |

QUOTE(alexei @ Apr 30 2014, 08:39 AM) recoilIt's a common extractor, I can't recall if it's 3-1 or 3-2-1. Haven't take pic, maybe later this evening I take for you. my cubebox has also changed the exhaust system to 3-1 extractor with 2 inch piping all the way out. its the Hot Bits kit though. Not sure how does it help with FC but engine response definitely increase. |

QUOTE(kopiopot @ Aug 1 2014, 11:30 AM) hi sifu sifu; Greetings Kopiopot,i thought of buying a second hand Kenari Auto, but just to wander wht are the major issues that u guys are facing, mind to share Welcome to LYN Kenari Club. It is good that you are thinking to get a 2nd hand Kenari Auto coz it is a really affordable and very economical car to own in terms of fuel and maintenance. Basically, there is nothing major to look at really coz it is a really reliable car. However, you will need to make sure all the car mechanical moving parts and joints are properly maintained by previous owner. If the previous owner is a good care taker, there is not much things to worry about. For Auto, take it for test drive and try to press the throttle to make sure the gearbox is not sluggish and jerky. Some badly maintained Kenari have very bad FC and jerky feel due to poor maintenance. Walk away if the car feels this way as there are so much choices for 2nd Kenari in the market now. Also check for the engine mounting and whether the engine vibrates too much during idle. If the car vibrates too much on idle, probably the engine mounting needs to be changed or engine requires retuning. Thanks. |

QUOTE(v1n0d @ Sep 15 2014, 11:13 AM) Hi all, I have a question regarding the choice of engine oil to use for my '05 Kenari. I've been using this engine oil grade (5W30) for quite sometime and i do not need to top up before my next service. How is the FC on your car? Any white smoke coming out from your exhaust on a hot sunny day?The P2 service center gives me 5W-30 by default, which almost always needs to be topped up before my next service. Is it true that changing to 10W-30 will fix this? |

QUOTE(v1n0d @ Sep 15 2014, 11:22 AM) No white smoke, but fuel consumption has been going up as of late. I don't normally fill the tank up to the maximum, but RM50 gets me about 250km or so. I travel between Seremban and KL on weekends, and I noticed the engine oil level drops after these trips. i think it is better for you to bring your car to your trusted mechanic to check. I suspect it could be your engine is consuming more engine oil than usual. Hence, you need to fill up once in a while. Probably the piston rings are gone. |

Are there still any leaks at this moment? If your repairs are still under warranty, you can bring back to P2 to get them rectified for free of charge if it falls within their warranty.
