Hi all. I'm owner of 04 model & as to date done about 170k km. No particular issue but seriously fuel consumption has gone up significantly. On full tank, the max I could go is around 220km city driving!! A foreman friend of mine did some cleaning to the throttle body using some chemical. But result still the same. Any suggestion on what can be done to improve mileage.

Mine one also 04 Kenari auto . Currently full tank can run until 380 KM . When i notice my car consumption high, I will try to change the "B" brand petrol(all the while I put in "p" petrol ) , the mileage will improve. Any where this is my notice . Different people different experiment . Try not to over shoot your RPM  over  3.5 K most of the time  will also  save petrol. Cleaning throtte body will help a bit only but not significant. Do not waste money on this.
The most important is you need to service your car regularly to maintain tip top condition. TQ

Thanks for the advice. All this while I'm using "s" brand petroleum coz it says fuel saving technology. Nevertheless I will try to use B brand petroleum and monitor.

S is worst on kenari. No power, and the fuel just got burnt too fast..hahahaha
*
If "S" brand is no good for kenari, then what brand u recommend? Near my house & office got "B" brand. Maybe I try out first.

so long as you can find a trustable mechanic which is convenient to you, shouldnt be any problem in maintaining your car as kenari does not need much special care like conti cars. you may use 10W30 or 5W30 engine oil grade to maintain optimum care for your car engine. replacing cone air filter with spiral fan doesnt contribute much to performance as many of them who have changed to cone air filter suffers from higher FC. money is better well spent on drop in filter.

as for rims, best fitting is actually 14 inches for kenari. no need to worry on hitting fenders when ferrying more passengers. if u wanna go 15 inches, better u fit sport spring and be prepared to sacrifice road comfort. Also, you do not have much choices for tyres as you need to find 175/50/15 sizes.
so far i am using B brand and returns about 230km on average with RM 40 worth of fuel and 70% of my driving time is city area with alot of start stop traffic. btw, my car is manual aerosport.
*
Good advice. I am actually planning to go for cone air filters coz my original air intake hose broke off and fell off the road. Think I will now go for drop in filters + look for replacement for my broken air intake hose.
I saw somewhere in Lelong.com some guy selling "Works Engineering" drop in filter for kenari at around RM140.. Is it a good buy?

Hi guys. I am planning to change the light bulbs hidden behind the air cond control switches in the dashboard. My kenari 04 dahsboard lights are getting very dim now. Any idea what type of bulb to use? I prefer led bulbs as I think they will be much brighter.

Hi bro, it is using T5 bulb. I have also changed my aircond panel light to LED.
*
Thanks bro. How about the bulb for the gear indicator. Mine is auto & the current bulb is green color
Another thing is I'm planning to buy one of those center cluster panel with so called "songkok" at the top. I have a double din player in the original slot below. Any suggestions on what to install in the "songkok"??

Usually the songkok people will install in-dash monitor but it is quite expensive though. besides, if u wanna install the songkok, you gotta change the whole dashboard to original L9 one's. if your focus is on interior, i would say that this is a good upgrade for your interior.

For the gear console bulb, im not too sure on what is the bulb type as mine is manual.
deep dish really looks nice though on Kenari but the right specs are quite hard to find and tyre choices not much too.

user posted image

vinod, songkok is the storage space above the aircond vent which is available whenever you wanna install original L9 dashboard into your car.
*
Oh I see. That means if I want the songkok then have to upgrade the whole dashboard to L9!!! But I saw in mudah.my that it is just plug and play in kenari. There is no mentioning about replacing the whole dashboard.

Jimmychoo75, just install L9 dashboard. Is worth what are you done.
*
Thanks for the suggestion. But the thing is my dashboard is still in very good condition and I was thinking just to replace the center part with L9 panel. Furthermore I don't see any difference between the L9 dashboard and my original kenari dashboard.

Hi, sharing a references about how Move dashboad mod into Kenari dashboad.

http://myyellowmango.blogspot.com/2014/10/...-box-of-my.html

Interesting article there for those who need to replace the stock dashboard with move L9 dashboard.
I paid a visit to a shop at sunway earlier today & found out they offer lots of move parts from halfcuts. The front grill with 4 separate headlamps really got my attention. That guy in the shop says RM80 for the grill, RM160 for the lights & RM60 for installation cost. Total 300 bucks. Is it a good buy? The grill & lamps looks perfectly fine of course with some minor scratches.
Then I ask about the center panel can it be modded into stock dashboard. That guy again say yes. Price is RM150 for the panel and RM60 for installation. Again I wish to ask is the price quoted ok?

As for installation, its as easy as 123. If u got problem pm me coz I like to dig for almost everything for my kenari.

I am thinking of replacing my rear tail lamps to the aerodown move type tail lamps since one of my tail lamp has cracked. My question is will the "Move aerodown" tail lamp plug & play into my kenari??
I noticed that the aerodown tail lamp is longer and jutting out on the upper portion. Do I need to purchase another spoiler or roof rack so that it will look nicer overall? Appreciate responds from sifus out there. Thanks

I am currently using k&n drop in filter but mine is manual gearbox. I would say is a good upgrade as it gives u better low to mid range response after replacing it. I've replace my alza and gf myvi auto with k&n filter, both giving better low to mid range response.
If you're Kenari is not aerosport model, then you will need to purchase the additional spoiler as well to make the fitting look good as move aerodown/peanut is connected from spoiler.
*
I think it'll look like this (attachment) after changing. I kind of like the upgrade.

You are welcome, if you really interested, please do a drop by Damansara Perdana during working hour or Bukit Puchong Tesco during after working hour. But... please give me a text a day before i can keep at my car from stock room.

Here is my contact.... 012-368 2786.

Just made a confirm, Aerodown Tail Lamp have come with Spoiler? it's a local made fiber spoiler?
If local made fiber spoiler i will suggest you go ahead with Move Peanut/RS japan or Local Aerosport one.
The different compare with Move Peanut/RS and Aerosport is slightly bigger and with LED brake light.
The photo above the post i think is Aerosport Spoiler + Aerosport/RS taillamp.
*
Wooooaaaaa.... Now I'm confused between aerodown, aerosport, rs, peanut, etc!!! Can provide some sample photos for cross reference & also for my knowledge. smile.gif

In fact my wife is working in dsara perdana but she'll be busy the whole day. I'll contact u to arrange a suitable time & date. Thanks.

Move AM1 is as below:

Move AM2 is as below However, this one will cost if im not mistaken, RM 800 a pair as it is limited edition and highly valuable among k-kar fans:

Move Aerodown is as below:

Hope this few models above helps you to differentiate them easier. Even for those lights above, you may play with different type of spoilers/roof racks to match to your liking.

Million thanks for your effort in explaining. I have got myself the Move Peanut tail lamp which comes with a black spoiler with third break led lamp. Got it for 290. I'll take some snapshot after I send the spoiler for painting & install the whole thing.

It is in fact true that not all fuel is the same. I've tested using bhp & the results are amazing. Very much better fc compared to shell which I have been using all this while.
I am wondering whether using bhp engine oil will further reduce my fc. Just wanna know whether there is any correlation between using the same engine oil & petroleum brand and vice versa?
Its almost time for my next oil change. Any recommendation this time?

I dismantled my meter this morning as there are some faulty light bulbs. They are very small in size. Wondering what codes are these bulbs? Anyone knows whether it is available in led type?
I mean the light bulbs for P, R, N, D, 3 & 2.

Greetings Jimmy,

For all the smaller bulbs for meter, you may buy this bulbs as i also bought the same one previously.

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Wholesale-T.../612357744.html

however, for auto car may need to buy 20 pieces as 10 pieces is ngam ngam to replace all the small lights for meter panel.

btw, if u wanna replace the aircond panel to white LED, i can sell them to you as i got extra for it. come take it from me during TT session.

guys, shall we held our TT session on the following saturday night? it has been delayed quite sometime already.
*
Hi Tommi

The small lights are labelled osram 12/1.2 at the back. Is this the same as B8.5 1led as per aliexpress advertisement? Will it fit into the back of the meter?

Mine got a plastic cap covering the nut. I'm thinking of dismantling the wiper arms for spraying coz mine also rusted already.
