Hi Guys.

New Kenari Owner here.

I already book for used Kenari (Auto) year 2003. Next week I will received my car. Plan to use as 2nd car.

For me the condition is good, engine no vibrate and smooth. But not sure if my kenari have other problems.

May I know how much for major service cost? (Timing Belt, V Belt, Engine Oil and Auto Gear Oil, Brake Fluid, Spark Plug)

Which workshop is best for Kenari? I stay around Shah Alam.

Thanks Guys

Mind sharing how much you paid for your car? Just wanna get a rough idea what the current market price is.

Service cost is generally low if you do it outside of an official workshop. I'll have to check my receipts before I can tell you the exact prices, but I don't recall paying anything more than RM300 unless I replaced a big item.

Thanks bro

I bought it for RM 12K ++. Current market price around 11k-14k for 2003 EZ model. I surveyed mostly kenari below 10k have a lot problems.(normally aircond & power window)

I'm very surprise to see the interior and the engine so smooth. But still cross finger. sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Need to change front tyres after I received my car. Wish me luck thumbup.gif

Wa, still got some dealers selling for 14k eh?

Touch wood everything's okay la, but just in case budget a bit extra for repairs; always advisable for 2nd hand cars.

Usually with price 14k the car condition is very good. Some more upgrade to RS bodykit. Interior seat change to new one.

But just want to ask sifus here..is kenari fuel and odometer problematic? how much the total cost?

That's the sound of faulty drive shaft. Better get it change before it causes more problem. Overall how much is the damage? What falken tires that you are using BTW?
*
Last Sunday I checked with the mechanic they said sound from front absorber. Need to replace front absorber. Driveshaft is good and new. (maybe first owner has replaced it)

I use Falken 326. 3 days already I received my car now I already drove more than 280km.. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Guys. I'm going for a servicing soon. Just wondering what engine oil should I use? All this while I'm using shell helix mineral oil. Thinking of changing to semi synthetic oil. My aim is lower fc and better power overall. Don't mind spending a bit more.

I reviewed bhp, caltex & petronas. Any opinion on bhp syngard 6000? I also saw eneos 10w30, anyone has experienced using eneos brand?
*
Right now I'm using castrol magnetic for my kenari..maybe after this I will use M7

My Satria neo using M7 semi and performance pretty good..responsive and lower fc

Hi All

First I want to wish you all Happy New Year! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

I need all sifus advices

Yesterday my kenari handbrake indicator & battery indicator light ON.

I just change my brake pad and top up brake fluid few weeks ago. I also checked my brake fluid level and its ok.

For Battery Indicator I think it is from the bad alternator.

Any of u guys experience this?

Thank you notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Hi all sifu

Have you all experience "tuck tuck sound" especially when braking or steer to left or right? This sound is not consistent.

I check 4 workshop seems they don't have any clue. I already change my lower arm, driveshaft is still good, and even steering rack.

Or I guess this is normal for 13 years old car. cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

does the sound only comes when u apply brake? if yes, probably is due to you did not skim your disc brake as the surface on your pad is smoother than ur disc brake. coz currently my car is also having this issue after i have changed the pads.
*
Thanks Sir

I will try skim the disc brake. Just the "tuck sound" comes underneath the passenger seat. Or maybe CV joint.

I will make an appointment with P1 service centre and if they don't have any clue I guess I should not worry about it.

Is the sound like there's a 'hanging steel rod' underneath somewhere and 'tak tak tak' sound when on slow drive ? Especially if you go to an alley or passing by a wall beside you, the sound is very obvious ?

I am having such issue now and I am suspecting the drive-shaft...

wa... your kenari is so clean and your paint is so nice still... original paint or repainted again ?  In Malaysia kind of weather, hard to maintain an always clean car... hmm...
*
Yes but the sound come out when on slow drive. Especially when I park my car.

I check few mechanic they said the sound not come out from the driveshaft.

dont trust dealers 100%.
i kena already, bought my kenari with all problem.
Mounting, Absorber, timing belt, A/C, battery, tyre, & engine.

bought at 14K repair cost don't want mention. sakit hati.
*
That's correct me too after 2-3 months a lots of things to be repaired. This is my list

1) Oil seal
2) Speedometer
3) Meter cable
5) Normal services (brake pad engine oil gearbox oil)
6) Alternator
7) Timing Belt

Thats why if you bought from the direct owner the price a bit expensive. Because they have change some of the parts.

My friend bought from direct owner Kenari 2003 cost 14k++ and all the parts new like timing belt just change, tyres still new and lots more.

I bought it about 12k++ but a lot of things to be repaired. So its up to you rclxub.gif

Check your tire condition, steering vibration is a common symptom of "bengkak" tires.
