well not recommended to cut into microsim because may affect signal strength
and just argue with them to ask them change for you with free
even digi charge for rm10 also reasonable, at least better than maxis which cost rm 25 =_=

this is quite true.
i quite often won't receive message even though the sender has already sent it.

Can explain how you conclude such statement? Do you know there are many factors may cause the delay of a phone msg?

Before changing to the S3, i was using an old nokia dumbphone.
It received messages (SMS) perfectly well and on-time like you should normally receive messages.
The only times that i don't receive messages is when there is no reception, but even if that happens, i will receive the message a few minutes later when reception is back again.

But when i changed to the S3, i had to cut my microSIM. I took it to a phone shop to cut it for me.
They used a microSIM cutter to cut, and somehow a tiny bit of the golden part of the SIM card came off.
The guy at the shop said it is normal and should not affect anything. I believed him since he said that it happens to many people's microSIM too.

But after a few days of using my phone, I realised that at times I don't receive messages even though the sender has sent it.
I'm stuck in my room most of the day, the reception in my room is always excellent with full bars.
Let's say i'm texting my girlfriend since we text all day.

Sometimes, I don't receive and messages for 30mins, and suddenly i will receive a message from her saying that I did not reply her.
But the truth is, I already replied her 30minutes ago and i did not receive and messages from her within that 30mins.
It's as if somehow the message has disappeared somewhere in the maxis servers or something.
And i will never ever receive that 'missing' message. NEVER. Not even after a few hours like how it usually happens to me on my old nokia phone.
(I'm pretty sure she's not trolling me doh.gif)

Not only this happens very often, it happens almost everyday even if my signal strength is always good.

I have a friend who uses an S3 too, instead of self-cutting his SIM to a microSIM, he took it to maxis and maxis made a brand new microSIM for him for RM20.
So far, he has never faced any problems similar to mine.

Another friend of mine who his dad owns a phone shop (he's quite experienced with phone stuff). His dad's phone shop provides microSIM cutting service. I have asked him about my problems before and he said that the truth is, if the golden part of the SIM is cut off even a tiny bit, it WILL affect the overall performance and something will screw up.
It's different from person to person, but he says that some people face dropped calls, some mobile internet will be sluggish, and some even facing the same problem as i do.

Conclusion, it's either my phone is a defect unit, or more likely the self-cut microSIM really messed things up doh.gif

So.. Yeah... rclxub.gif

omg did anyone else see the release candidate for wanamlite jelly bean ?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705866
Android Ice Cream Sandwitch vs Jellybean

My advise, don't use the beta jellybean wanamlite just yet. it's based on the leak rom which is not stable. Wait for the official jelly bean rom to be incorporated into wanamlite at the end of this month, and even then you need to wait a week to see what issues crop up for wanam to fix.

not to mention not all apps are jelly bean supported fully. so if you do recover your apps to your jelly bean phone via titanium backup, you'll need to check them all 1 by 1 that they work, or you may need to temporarily remove them until they get updated with jelly bean support.
*
I am using WanamLite RC1 base on leak Jelly Bean.

It is ok only, you won't feel the speed much improve (sometimes even slightly lagging) and stability I give 90%.

Wait for Final. smile.gif

haha... use it since Friday, that is 4~5 days ago and so fast got corrupted or problem meh...
i wonder why i need to clean the memory myself always, where as my gf's Ray and my DZ performing well on 512 RAM without cleaning the RAM... or should i say my gf never clean up the RAM before and she duno how to do it...

Currently i feel better with the performance but the troublesome is i need to manual clean the RAM myself...
more smooth, but there is lag here and there... clean up the memory, gone, everything back to normal

well that is sales talk my friend... i cannot give you an absolute answer but due to my experience for few days...

1st is over heat problem, yes and no... but i do not thing it is due to over charging... when using the phone to play every simple games you will feel the heat... i duno y ppl complaint about the New iPad but not this...

2ndly is the hang problem, i do not feel it but yes there is some lag here and there... my bad experience is i never clean any of my task since i bought it on last friday, mess up with it and install all the apps i wanted... on Saturday nite my nightmare comes, i'm chatting with my sis and my gf at the same time but different app... and i'm surfing for something using stock browser and looking thru the iproperties app... suddenly my skype auto killed by the task manager and also my stock browser restarts everytime i swap to messaging apps to talk to them...
after complaining on it here, i only find out one thing... i need to clear the memory myself, using the S3 task manager... when i check that time my memory is 650+MB used over 779MB (that is what available for user only), so i wonder why there is so heavy loaded there...
so restart i still have slight problem but no big deal, then until now i need to clear the RAM myself using stock task manager to clear up the path for my usage... i do not think i'm a heavy user for this few days, as i'm worst on working days... more towards chatting, web browsing and gaming for tis few days but for working day i have a lot of calls, 2 account running emails, whatsapp, browsing and some light gaming... i'll see how it performs by next week, when everybody (customer) back from Raya mood...

my bad experience on the phone is not about the parts and specs is the firmware build by Samsung... for Android it will auto manage the memory for you but i did not expect it does not help me to clean up instead i need to do it myself... user experience is badly affected, maybe i expect too much as i upgrade from Single Core... my DZ running custom Sense 4 ROM is almost as speed on the Home Panels as S3, which i felt it should be smooth like a silk with the core and RAM available...S2 is better as the RAM usage is not that high and they maintain around 450~500MB as i heard... yesterday go out with my fren who owns S2 and he say what is the freaking things running behind it, 650MB used!!! but after manually clearing it using task manager it is ok, goes down to ~500MB but then it will bounce up back to ~600 later stage...

It is not ideal for u to keep cleaning the RAM manually. let the phone do the job itself

sorry bro... i'm not 1st day android user and i know that but the stupid task manager always overloaded my RAM... have bad bad experience which i never felt be with even Single Core/512MB RAM phones... maybe i expect too much from a Quad core and 1G RAM product...

i need to do it, and it helps a lot on the lags here and there... some apps also did not mange to launch properly, so i try to use task manager to clean all task... u know what, just right after i do it i relaunch the app and it is running smooth and fine... i think there is something do with the firmware problem, on the Sammy side... S2 does not require to do so as per my fren statement... my rooted DZ with Sense 4.0 ICS ROM i did not do that also, my gf's stock Xperia Ray does not even do any task killing coz she duno what the hell is that or how to do it... but we will restart the phone once a week, i face this problem even after i just bought it for 2 days sweat.gif and pls do not tell me after i download all my needed apps i need to restart it... which i never do on both of the single core, no problem...

i hate that troublesome also, i have no choice but doing it for the smoothness...

BTW i duno y all ppl thought i'm a new user... I'm not have 3 Android device in 3 yrs and rooted my beloved DZ already...

Dude..seriously...stop complaining and find solution for your phone problem biggrin.gif

1) Never compare your phone RAM with other phone. Different phone contain different RAM. Heck..even the same brand and model phone usually contain different RAM available as not all ppl download the very same apps.

2) Why you even bother compare S3 with S2 RAM.!? Both phone is not the same. S3 have more features so of coz it use more RAM than S2..!!

3) You do know where your RAM goes..right..? Most TW based app use the RAM as in cache so the app will open and work faster next time you open it. That mean it's better to let that blardy TW app use your RAM. Cleaning RAM for this type of app will only drain your battery faster as the app will start collecting your RAM again and again in background.

Yes of coz you will feel more smoother and faster response once you clear your RAM. But then what happen when that blardy TW apps start collecting and munching your freshly freed RAM..? The answer is you'll be back to square one. Your RAM will be high again and your phone feel sluggish agan..and you feel irritated again and start complaining again :-P

Your solution is this. Either let your phone manage itself on its stupid RAM cache OR you root your phone and be a McGyver and start eliminating this cache process. Freeze or un-install this heavy RAM user apps. That way you might free up your precious RAM..!!!

~~cheers~~

Added on August 21, 2012, 9:26 amOhh..one more thing. I never need to clearing up my RAM in ALL my phone. Be it S2, GNote and S3. So far everything is silky smooth. Maybe i was dang lucky...huhh..!!?

if you really dont like the s3 and it's ability, just sell your unit and get out of s3 thread, complaining repetitively is useless, it's like a hate crime, for complainers like you, go get a xiaomi 2 when it's out, quad core 2gb ram with IPS screen, good for use, and is around rm1k only, when the final price is out, i might consider it for my mom, or i let her use s3 and i use xiaomi 2 if it is as good

the scenario is like the d3 scenario, a lot of people got it, and hated it, said leave d3 and they did, but they go to the forum and keep ranting, not keeping it alone, until people bash them and they said people hated them for hating d3, they say the d3 forumers are haters when they themself just couldnt stop the ranting and complaint

I think it is best not to mess around with those RAM cleaners applications...just let the OS handle it...but I believe what we could do is to limit the applications/services that auto-start which might eat up the memory.

well as i already said, i never hate it... but the RAM management disappointed me... thats all... to discuss my view on the problem is a crime in this thread is a crime then i have nothing to say...
if you read the post properly i never said i hate the phone, but feel the RAM management screw up...
end of story...
