This has been happening the first day i got my s3. updated my fw 3 times and everytime i hope it's maybe the fw problem. but the problem still persist. LINE version 2.5.5 updated until 3.0.3 (latest), stil the same problem.

dont bother using the current line app, its causing phone to awake every few minute. draining the battery madly. wait for the next version of line.  icon_rolleyes.gif

get whatsapp or fb chat? laugh.gif

current line app works perfectly on WIFI, no battery draining, slept at 99% woke up 8 hours later still with 95% battery with sms, whatsappp, line,fb,emails, insta notification coming in.

am using whatsapp/fb chat/viber/wechat/talkbox happily. but i do need line for some purpose. or else i wont be "fussing" all over other forums and here. i will stop asking here. hopefully, HOPEFULLY, new version LINE will fix this.

Added on August 23, 2012, 1:07 amim also thinking of ROOTING my device to see if this can solve the problem.

Any recommends?

1) use CF-root
2) then flash with which ROM?
3) been seeing alot of wanamlite 2.2 users here, it is really good?

lol
well I don't think root will solve the problem
just give it a try for following solution, once try the solution and open the line, lazy to type

1. clear line data, cache, force stop
2. download history eraser and clear all cache and repeat step 1
3. reinstall
4. register another account ?
it recall me last time titanium backup also keep update @@

clearing history is like clearing every everything in my phone such as sms, web history, etc.. might as well do a factory reset? need your advice here. coz im considering a backup > factory reset > install LINE(to see if it's working) > restore if needed.

LINE app not working on mobile data, but works on WIFI.

FINALLY, I MANAGE TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM:

Most of the people having this issue, manage to browse, FB, twitter, whatsapp, BUT UNABLE to use LINE.

We have tried many ways to solve this problem:
1) uninstall app, reinstall
2) update firmware
3) root/ flash with other firmware
4) factory wipe and reinstall (this might help)

THE ULTIMATE REASON that LINE is unable to use on MOBILE DATA, but works on WIFI IS.........

**** THE ACCESS POINT for your mobile data*****

TO solve this problem:

1) go to SETTINGS
2) go to MORE SETTINGS
3) go to MOBILE NETWORK
4) go to ACCESS POINT NAMES
5) MAKE SURE the APNs is Maxis 3G Internet (with a green dot)/ Digi Internet (green dot)/ Celcom bla bla bla
6) Tap the MENU button (left of your home button),and RESET TO DEFAULT
7) it will ask you to choose (in my case) Maxis 2G Internet OR Maxis 3G Internet
8) Of course, i chose 3G internet
9) TADDDA, web browsing with LIGHTING SPEED and LINE is WORKING on MOBILE DATA AGAIN!! icon_rolleyes.gif thumbup.gif

IN MY CASE, i have:
1) MAXIS MMS as PRIORITY(green dotted) << THE REASON why BROWSING & LINE app FAIL on mobile data.
2) Maxis 3G Internet

Hopefully this will help those with the same problem. Moderator, kindly PIN this up IF you find this USEFUL icon_rolleyes.gif

USB tethering = connect USB to your PC, then settings > tethering and portable hotspot > USB tethering

Wireless tethering = settings > tethering and portable hotspot > portable wi-fi hotspot

you can click on the Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot and configure the "wireless name" and "password"
