Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy 2 tyres are rated higher than even the new Michelin Pilot Super Sport. The following article will give you a rough idea:

Stock tyre is 225/45/18, right?. F1 only have 235/45/18 will that be an issue when taking full u turn or corner, will it hit the side walls?

No la. Some of our K5 owners have installed the tyre. Just slightly wider only.

Added on September 22, 2012, 12:50 pmTraction control... Anybody tried it? Test drived vw cars with traction control on corners and roundabout, damn fun without ever stepping on brakes, just floor the accelerator only (of course no cars on the road) K5 traction control, will it be tat good?

I tried going a few rounds at 80kmph around a roundabout near Lahat, Ipoh during 1 of my test drives. Was quite impressed. Not sure if its superior or inferior to other cars.

Has anyone tried f1 eagle tyres 18". If so how much a piece? How's the road noise and handling? What about ultra racing bars, any comment?
Thanks.

I am using Good Year Eagle F1 Assymetric 2. Superb tyre... it really grips on the road. Taking fast corner and driving at rain with confident. If you looking to reduce noise... I am sorry, this is not the tyre u are looking for.

No ultra racing bar yet for K5... maybe by end of this year... hopefully.

But would it more quieter than Nexen?
What tyre would be almost as good as F1 but quieter then?

Just asked a workshop on this Ultra Racing bars, which needs 2 day pre-order for 6 bars - which are fixed to the bottom of the car only. Front & Rear Strut (Tower or Sway) bars is not available - bacause it's not easy to do. Dunno when Ultra Racing wants it to be made.

wa.. i initially thought F1 is quieter, or maybe slightly quieter. if its not, then what would be the recommended choice of quieter tyres?

for my case, i dont need uneven road to test. simple straight road also can hear the sound consistently. my mileage is close to 900km already. dont know whether i can wait for close to 2000km for my first service or not, too annoying

Buddies, get ready for a really disappointing warranty / service experience with your sunroof problems. I've spent 3-4months and going in and out of the SC 4-5 times asking them to rectify my problems, nothing gets done at the end. They will try to grease/glue/tighten whatever they can but these temporary solutions won't resolve your problems completely. My problems reoccurred 3-days after collecting it from the SC.

They had once suggested to replace my windscreen because they can't resolve my jumping wiper problem (off course i stopped them) but really unfortunately, in the process of replacing my rearview mirror, they have accidentally yanked off the plastic peg holding the rearview mirror and shattered my windscreen. And these fellas curi-curi replaced my windscreen without notifying me before hand (and there goes my 3M tinting). Until now they haven't offered me any form of apology or compensation.

So, out of extreme frustration, I made a little video for KIA MOTORS, i'm gonna post it all over KIA's facebook pages and whatever social network sites they have, after my meeting with NAZA KIA this coming Wednesday pertaining my problems. Since Paris Motor Show is coming, i'll take this opportunity to grab a bit of their attention.

Is this car assembled locally? If yes, then I think this is expected and small matter. No many people can afford to use Optima, so I think the SC also has no good experience to fix it. You know the local assemble problem, plastic issue, rattling issue. Every car has this problem.

I told myself cannot complain too much. Because I can see some other car even got engine problem such as jerking or cannot get started. I think I am lucky enough.

You have to find the right SC, try few different SC, and see how they can help you.

Added on September 25, 2012, 4:00 pmWhen the Optima Hybrid will come to Malaysia? Without tax, will it cost about RM120k?

Loan just approved. Picked Bright Silver.

SA ask me to wait for the new batch, which is suppose to be using Nu engine and unconfirmed rumour (from myK5club FB SA) of DVD+GPS youch screen HU (which my SA does not think will have in the new batch).

If based on the Nu engine for Elantra 1.8, which is MPI D-CVVT, the Nu 2.0 for K5, the pick-up (I think) will be worse than Theta II engine as torque is only readily available from 2.2K RPM and above. And remember, the Elantra is lighter than K5 also.

So if I am not mistaken, with the Nu 2.0 K5, you sacrifice performance for better FC...
