i think they're already upgraded.. It's the customer's decoders are need to be upgraded.. because old decoder can't support MPEG4...

The monthly AstroView Magazine still have the TV channel monthly schedule.

It is only free when we want to read (or download) it online at... "http://www.astro.com.my/astroview/indices/index_349.html"... and can download the entire magazine there. For online reading there, go to Page 63 where there is a TV schedule list for 01-08-2012 but its not easy to read the tiny and slightly blur schedule details.

Note : Unfortunately, I tried many times downloading the entire magazine and always got a bad ZIP ... cannot extract the PDF file inside the zipfile. Also... the magazine is still for August 2012 so maybe we can get the September issue a few days later.

The astroview monthly magazine is still mailed to Astro subscribers FOC. But of course, this only applies to old subscribers who sent to reply to Astro before they changed it to a paid subscription. If you have been an Astro subscriber since... late 2005 or 2006 BUT did not complete the form they sent to you by year end, you will not get astroview magazine. Basically it was like an early bird special. If you want to continue to get the magazine for free every month, then you have to complete the form and mail it back to Astro. After the offer period, you still can get the astroview magazine but you'll have to pay for it.

if only astro provide free equipment towards the black and silver box customer... and just give option about HD channel whether they want to subscribe or not.. ahhh.. that would be nice~

is it normal you can't record a movie let's say at KBSW and at the same time view another channel live at FMP ?

each time i record a movie and wanna switch channel - it says i am currently moving away and i hv to cancel recording first.

   

The standard Byond decoder only have a single tuner. So, you can only watch and record the same channel. Only the Byond PVR decoder with built in HDD have 2 tuners which mean you will be able to record 1 channel while watch recorded channel, watching/switching to another live channel or record 2 channel while you're away.

Suspect another possibility of offering sky news HD is also to "get back" at BBC.

Later Astro will say Sky News is more  popular than BBC....and poor ratings on BBC etc....and the drop the channel.

Btw, saw pix on some satellite tv forum that BBC World News HD (available in asia) is now on trial on some satellite
