Just got off the phone with Astro Cust. Service- I enquired about channel listing. So I was watching Cartoon Network (CN) and bam- commercial comes on and says "Cartoon Network is now available in HD; contact your local cable operator for details".

So I went on the Astro Twitter page (@astroonline) and asked about CN in HD. I got a reply asking if I was subscribed to Fun pack and HD service, and saying please call Cust. Service to get it.

Therefore I did, and the girl said "Sorry sir, I can't find that channel in all our listings. However, there is a new HD channel for Fun pack: Disney XD in high-def." Apparently it starts from 1/9 onwards on CH637.

Not what I wanted, but at least I got something la. Not a total loss, I guess. And they even gave me Astro's Marketing dept.'s no. to enquire more about CN HD.

PS. I asked about why FMP HD no subtitles, but FMP SD and Sundance HD got; the girl said that it's like that la, cannot do anything. What even.

Dear God, I want CN HD to be on Astro but I REALLY don't want it to end up like Disney. Disney wasn't like how it was in my childhood, now I prefer CN and Nick where I used to like Disney. I blame Astro. Cangkuls the lot of them. Though, my dad isn't going to pay for Astro and Streamyx. It has to be either- right now it's Astro since it's slightly better in channel selections. And because of sports. Of course.

Yeah, it'd be nice to actually see it on the TV. Somehow, downloading it from iTunes just isn't the same.

What. Even. Is that even REAL? I hope SuperPack subscribers can get that!

Yay, History HD now simulcast with SD! Yeah, if only Astro ditched 4:3 for SD and moved to 16:9 and MPEG-4.... Too bad that won't happen in my lifetime haha. But one can hope right?

Eh, worth it or not ah? Thinking of buying just to record "Avengers". Will the recording stay after content expires?

Ah shoot. Then Astro Best not worth it la. I'll just get Avengers off iTunes USA.

PS. A few questions: Does Astro have BBC? Is it BBC News? How come they don't bring in other BBC channels? Or for that matter, other SKY channels?

PPS. Long story short- I just want to watch recently-aired episodes of TopGear and the Graham Norton show via pay TV. Too much to ask ah?

PPPS. Astro (or somebody else, IDEC) needs to start airing Ellen Degeneres shows again.

Maxis KLCC told me today Astro B.yond IPTV coming to landed properties "soon" RM248 for SuperPack 1/3/4 + unlimited Maxis Fibre 10MBps if you're a Maxis postpaid customer. Add RM 20 if you're not. Maxis said they will no longer give free calls to mobile networks after launching IPTV.

I'd love CNHD. That being said- I hoped for it since last year. So most likely not gonna happen.
