QUOTE(jamesleetech @ Sep 5 2012, 02:30 AM) No problemo, glad to help. I will never pay for the printed copy when subscribers were given free printed hard copies in the early years of As*teruk since 1996 ! Why should we pay now for the printed copy when they also got revenue from advertisers to the magazine. I think I'm still getting the free printed copy of TV guide or is it they forgot to bill me or it could be I didn't notice it was billed to me as I pay by auto debit on yearly basis..

QUOTE(netken @ Sep 9 2012, 09:23 AM) yes! grab myself a compatible HDD last nite and it works immediately! is it normal you can't record a movie let's say at KBSW and at the same time view another channel live at FMP ? each time i record a movie and wanna switch channel - it says i am currently moving away and i hv to cancel recording first. The standard Byond decoder only have a single tuner. So, you can only watch and record the same channel. Only the Byond PVR decoder with built in HDD have 2 tuners which mean you will be able to record 1 channel while watch recorded channel, watching/switching to another live channel or record 2 channel while you're away. The Byond PVR won't be able to accept 2nd HDD. The internal HDD was a 500GB HDD and yes, you need the 2nd RG6 cable to the parabolic/external dish.

QUOTE(yoonchuan @ Sep 25 2012, 07:06 PM) Hi Astro Byond Fans, I just bought the new LED TV and connect with the old astro decoder (using AV). Sadly to say the quality of the video is very very bad. I will upgrade the current box to AStro Beyond soon. Just want to know, will the non HD channel such as 311 , 317, 301, will we get the better video quality from non HD channel ? Thanks. No.. Some say the SD channel quality was better with old decoder and take note HDMI port was disabled if you didn't subscribe to HD service.

QUOTE(zeone @ Oct 29 2012, 09:50 AM) Hi Bro... Fyi me juz tried changing Sat Settings to User Defined #1. However, there is even a drop in Signal Strength (only 146) in my case...as probly due2 wat yu mentioned above. Consequently, me hv reverted to ori settings ie giving me values of abt 156/154. Does the abv mean the Sat Dish needs 2b re-aligned? TQ. I'm not sure if this helps but my Byond(non PVR) by default was selecting entry point 1 in 'Installation Setting -> Satelite' but I changed it to point 13(measat 3A). Signal went from ~ 170 to 244 but at least my ESPN HD was watchable now. Was keep getting 'Raining, No signal' before that on ESPN HD channel. The rest of the HD channel no problem though with entry point 1. Saw some discussion before about the entry point before but can't really recall.

QUOTE(zeone @ Oct 29 2012, 11:35 PM) The difference in Signal Strength was very obvious with the old Decoders...compared readings between mine & frens/relatives in Penang. Btw me am way up North.... So cld it be similarly affected with the Byond Std/PVR Decoders? I'm not sure why my sure gave a stronger signal on entry point 13. Just re-check back my entry point 1, still lower around 190 compared to point 13 which's ~240. I don't have friends with PVR. Thats why never check out how the usual signal level of Byond PVR. I guess maybe still need to refer back to the installer as sometime the dish positioning really affect the signal quality although it's just marginally out of position..

QUOTE(Griever5177 @ Nov 5 2012, 05:02 PM) Hi. I'm new user for Astro Beyond. Currently all my HD channels has this "copy protection failed". Is there any solution on how to solve this? Thanks. Did you connect any AVR or other device between the Byond decoder and your TV? Copy Protection Failed message usually because there's one non HDCP compliance device between the Byond decoder and the TV.

Cause I am thinking to get tis TV cabinet from Ikea ( http://www.ikea.com/my/en/catalog/products/00178338/ ) and would like to keep the Astro Beyond decoder (yet to subscribe) in the top row of open compartment. Thanks in advance! 25.5cm x 15cm x 4.5cm with 0.5cm allowance, without the potruding parts(cable, connectors etc) for Astro Byond decoder.. Not sure for the PVR unit..

QUOTE(fronaldo @ Jan 14 2013, 09:42 PM) but i heard from promotion that the RM20 will be charge for only 12 months..after that it goes back to your packages Nope.. The HD service fee will continue until you terminate or 'downgrade' it to SD service only. By then, they will disable the HDMI port on the Byond decoder..

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Feb 28 2013, 04:21 PM) just got a call from TMnet yesterday, told me my area's line (copper, no fiber yet) has been upgraded to IPTV ready, asking me if I wanted to upgrade me screamyx package to the new 8MB package or not, but contract for 1 year with no promotion/discount whatsoever... and i thought Assteruk IPTV is running on TIME fiber only something fishy there, sounds like TM are afraid to lose more customer once IPTV is launched for my area for the landed properties anyway... hopefully the package is attractive enough as I currently are paying more than RM300+ for Assteruk Superpack3+multiroom+1mb screamyx Nope.. That's just 8mbps screamyx and not IPTV capable. Those IPTV like unifi or the rest have a dedicated 8mbps for the IPTV function on top of your subscribed package.

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Mar 1 2013, 10:03 AM) crap~ why the heck that telesales lady told me the line there its upgraded to IPTV ready? Can always verify my quote. Those telesales people only care about their commission and don't have real fact sometime. I was offered 'upgrade' to those 8mbps screamyx line too at RM160 from my current underutilised 4mbps screamyx but I rejected as Unifi is coming soon to my area. The telesales guy still trying to persuade me for the 'upgrade' although I tell him I will wait for Unifi. Those are 3rd party telemarketer. This post has been edited by willkso: Mar 1 2013, 09:56 AM

QUOTE(Anonymous34 @ May 10 2013, 01:03 AM) Find me an optical port first haha! And o also need my bluray sound. And it also can transfer dolby 5.1 thru that optical cable. But i will use optical cable as daily driver as i still want to use my smart hub apps like youtube! Astro Byond was using the coaxial output right? I'm just using standard RCA cable to have the digital output to my amp..

QUOTE(Anonymous34 @ May 10 2013, 01:42 PM) Won't it sound like shit? Seems like you're not getting what I mean or you jump straight to conclusion without digesting. What I mean here was that I'm just using a regular RCA cable(slight thicker than usual) to connect the digital coaxial output from Astro Byond to my amp. On the HD channel, I'm getting the Dolby Digital 5.1 signal. By the way, I'm not sure how the shift will sounds like when it's in the living room where I place all my AV system. Maybe you can try it out and let me know.. Thanks!

QUOTE(Anonymous34 @ May 11 2013, 11:43 PM) U mean like the red and white cable ? I also have some thick rca cablesit can be connected straight to the amp's black colour input? Im not so into the audio things sorry! I place my woofer at the right. The medium speaker at the shelf in the middle Sub woofer beside mai tv. And the two long speaker on the side. Hope you get what i mean! I dont know why my bluray player can output dd 5.1 but astro cannot. So dissapointed I'm just using the thicker 'yellow' cable from RCA cable for digital coaxial signal transfer to my AVR. Not sure how's connection and I don't think the speaker placement related to the signal. Of course you have to set your audio setting from Astro Byond to Dolby Digital 5.1(Digital only) Home > Settings > Your Settings > Digital Audio Settings Attached thumbnail(s)
