Yes, I do have gps, but I dont want to switch it on for short errands and known places. Now it seems like gps has to be ON whereever we go!

Added on October 13, 2012, 4:22 pmIs there a leeway or they catch you at 81 on a 80km/hr highway?

How to drive 70km/hr on a 6 lane highway? Fall asleep on the wheels likely.

yeah, recently I have switched to Waze, because I want to know the traffic condition when I drive, unfortunately it doesnt indicate road speed like Garmin sad.gif maybe I need to revert back to Garmin.

Agreed. Just imagine this. They snapped 63,558 offenses using 14 cameras in just 11 days. That's like 412 offences per camera per day. So imagine when all 1000 plus cameras are operational. That would mean >420,000 offenses snapped per day. So if all 420K get the fine of RM300, the agencies / cronies involved would get RM126 million per day.

If this is not a money making scheme, then i dont know what is.  vmad.gif

They keep on saying its a similar system implemented overseas. Yes i agree. The system is similar but in those countries the speed limits are carefully regulated and ammended to suit actual road conditions. You wont get a speed limit of 30kmph on a single lane Federal trunk road like we have near Teluk Intan.

But kudos to the DAP led Penang state government which banned the installation of the AES system until a more detailed study is completed.  thumbup.gif

The list is the INTENDED locations for the AES cameras. TO date only 14 are operational. The rest will be installed in the next 18 months.

The static AES camera at slim river one is on the left side of the road, this is captured on the other side, should be mobile.

Becareful near slim river as not only there is the AES on the left, mobile speed trap manned by police are always there near and after slim river exit, sometimes even at some bridge before Sungkai turn off.

I have seen alot people started speeding after the AES but didnt realise there are manned ones after that as well.

A friend of mine told me that they has to be a sign warning motorist of speed cameras before they approach the cameras. Its like a regulation or something.not sure how true this is but the sight of those tall tiangs with cameras and antenna does give a scary presence. Seeing so many of them Nowadays. Feel like im being watched.. :/

Jpj dont give discounts as i know. Pdrm gives 50% if you settle within 15days and reverts back to rm300 thereafter.

The red light cam will catch speeding a not?

I thought not all places implemented AES.

It would be good if we categorize it according to state so we can help fellow driver to know the location and vice verse when we travel to their state

Latest summon i get from AES camera

Slim River Expressway...
This isnt AES. AES started 3rd week of September and the AES pics are high definition. You can see your face clearly. The summons also looks different. The one you got is from PDRM. AES summons are from JPJ.

Please be reminded that AES will not replace the PDRM cameras. PDRM will still go around placing their portable speed traps at the usual locations. Slim River & Tapah are some of those famous locations.

As for the amount, if you get a RM300 summons from PDRM, then its 'operasi' so you get the maximum compund. Yours came under the Raya operasi hence the max compund. At other times it starts from RM150 and increases as time goes by.
