Guys, i think this thread is pointless and a waste of time. Whats the point of compiling locations? The AES has both permanent and mobile camera's. So even if u list locations here, the mobile cameras will change locations.

Besides that all major junctions, highways, truck roads, accident spots, etc will have the AES. You can't possibly drive fast on some stretches and then slow down at other areas. Ure gonna get mixed up at some point and get caught.

The best way, is just to follow the speed limits and keep pressuring the Gov to increase the speed limits on certain stretches or sections of highways. The NSE has a design speed limit of 130kmph so the current speed limit can be easily increased. Cars nowadays are also better equipped to handle higher speeds.

So my suggestion is to close this thread. Its pointless really. AES camera's operate 24hrs 7 days a week and you can get multiple summonses in a single day if ure not careful. So just follow the law and dont speed even if you drive D segment cars. Its just a change of mindset that we Malaysians must incorporate into our daily lives.

Can't blame this guy. Some ulu area the traffic light timing is super stupid one. When no car its green, when there are lots of cars its red.
Regardless of the timing, the lights are there for a purpose. In western European countries, nobody beats the lights. Even in remote regions like Andenes, northern Norway (above the artic circle), they respect the lights and pedestrians. Only 3 cabs in this city and yet the cab will never move until all passengers have fixed their seat belts. I once asked the driver and he said 'we were brought up to respect the law regardless'. This is something that Malaysians will need to learn.

I do not agree fully... In general Laws are made by people and society, the law may not be correct. Just an accepted norm.

Some law say person should be stoned to death, burned to death or crushed to death.... Is it accepted now in today world the law say this is wrong.

So what is the law. It just something someone propose and the group accept.

Personally, I think in the middle of the night, with no cars for miles around with you the only person, why wait for the lights. That's stupidity to me.
I think there are exclusions for certain traffic lights after a certain time. At some areas, traffic lights are switched to the alternating amber after 10pm. But again, we can request the authorities to make such exclusions but ultimately its still their decision. As long as the light is functioning, its our duty and obligation to follow it regardless of the time.

Your interpretation of the law may be different to another person's interpretation. For you beating a red light on an isolated road may be ok. Someone else may not only think thats ok but he may also think that driving without his head lights on is also ok. Imagine what would happen if both of you meet at that same traffic light.

Thats why Laws are not meant to be interpreted. Its meant to be followed. If the Law isnt correct, then we have avenues to push for a change. But as long as the Law is in effect, we are compelled to follow. Just because someone thinks the Law isnt right doesnt give that person the right to break the law.

Btw, im refering to legitimate laws. Traffic management laws should not be compared with barbaric laws imposed in third world countries by certain religious zealots.

The cab driver is probably trying to buy more time and can charge the customer more or plain lazy.
Nope. This is a common practice in most European countries. Btw, how long does it take to put on your seatbelt? How is being lazy connected with getting your passengers to buckle up? Doesnt make sense at all.

nola, he is right, this is a common practice in Europe, in certain countries in Europe, the bus driver won't move if you have not gotten to your seat, and if the bus is full, all the aunties will look at you, so you know you have to get down and take the next bus. lol, funny experience...

in switzerland, whenever you are beside the road on the pedestrian zebra line there, all the cars will stop and let you pass. even if you dont have the intention to cross the road, they will also stop their car and let you thru...
we really should have learn all these....
Not just in Switzerland. It happens in many European countries. You just need to be standing at the road side and all the cars will automatically stop for you. Even in a remote region like Andenes, Norway where there are only about 30 cars in the city and the roads are usually deserted, they will stop for you to cross without u even having to look or make any gesture.

With Malaysian mentality it will probably take another 50 years... Everyday when I go back home from work there are always people abusing the emergency lane no matter whether its a Proton, Toyota, Merc, BMW or Porsche. You think they will stop their overpriced recond cars for pedestrians??? In another 50 years maybe...
The first step to education needs to start from school. Kids need to be taught to obey rules & respect the law. They also need to be taught the importance of preserving the environment. This is an ongoing process and should be instilled from young.

Then a total revamp of JPJ needs to be undertaken starting from the issuance of licences and permits. Everything is corrupted. Even now, i know that lorry drivers with a typical D licence can purchase a E licence (above 7.5 tonnes) or a H licence (heavy machinery above 5 tonnes) for only about RM 800 without even showing up at JPJ. Many trucks are being refabricated using 'potong' parts and the schematics are being done by specially appointed 'JPJ draughtsmen' who then produce JPJ compliant drawings for documentation purposes only while the real truck is never inspected. Everything for a fee. These are the trucks on our roads today.

The cancer is really bad. Trust me.

What 357.9km from KL? The camera is located at the 376km marker and its 90.8km from the Damansara tol Northbound. The camera only picks up speeds above 120kmph. So if ure driving up to 120kmph ull be fine. But either way i still drop to just below 120 when im passing that spot.

still its a legal matter. people can sue kao the government.

ir flash is more discrete and provide clearer picture. can see the face clearly (and the passenger)
Sue based on what? What documented evidence can you hope to get that your vision was affected by the flash? Even if it was affected and caused an accident, how would you prove that it was the flash that caused it and not your recklessness?

Easy to say sue this and sue that. But need documented & legitimate evidence for it to stand in court.

I am sure they put on the yellow sign (Operasi Had laju) before approaching the camera, I don't know about the Kajang one but the 2 camera up north has this 2 warning signs about 2-3KM before the camera. When you saw this sign, then you should start driving within the speed limit
Thats not the sign. The sign for the camera is OPERASI KAMERA. The other sign boards have been there for ages and are located at every few km's.

When you see the warning signboard, start release the pedal and let it cruise down to 80-90km/h.
This may take about 500-1000m+ and by that time, you will reach nearby the camera.

The camera detect and shoot at about 100-200m+ (from the pole), to capture your front plate number.

Those previous handheld or tripod mounted radar gun, straight line can shoot up to 2km.
By the time you see the fellow squatting down at pillar, most of the time is too late already. Unless he press wrong or shaking or temporary blinded by the sun or missed it.
But they normally shoot at 300-800m range.
Therefore, when approaching interchange, PLUS always has 3 signboards. 2km, 1km and 500m.
I'll release pedal and move to slower lanes immediately after pass the 2km board.
Bro, the cops only sit at the middle pillar about 50% of the time only. At other times, they sit by the side or near the bushes. So the technique of slowing down before interchanges or overhead crossings will only work 50% of the time.

Rule of thumb is never speed between 8am-6.30pm. But with the AES, it wont matter since its 24 hrs.

what if we engage high-beam when we're nearing the camera location?
This was the old technique which some claimed worked. But it never has and never will affect any speed cams. Same goes for that number plate spray.

I think I got flashed too at slim river. I'm driving at about 110 to 120.

Papers say that we will receive in between 5 days?

Kinda worried now although it passed 5 days, still, checked and nothing though.
The AES operational speed is just like the normal hand held speed cams whereby it picks up speeds starting from 121kmph. So if ure below that u wont get caught. But the problem is your car speedometer is not always accurate. So best to just maintain 110kmph at the AES zones.

Yeah you are right, we should follow the speed limit. I guess you are not driving often, especially along plus highway, when you are driving 110km/h in the left lane and behind you is a bus or a trailer and keep flashing or horning you to give way or drive faster, and this is a very very normal condition and our government did not take any action against these lorry, bus or trailer company and driver since the speed limit for them is only 80km/h or 90km/h, especially most of the accidents are caused by them. Sometimes if you are driving within the speed limit range is very dangerous when meet this kind of "big guy".
They can honk and flash all they want but they wont hit you so no need for you to be intimidated in any way. From my experience, these heavy vehicles usually get pissed off when ppl suddenly cut in front of them and slow down or they drive on the fast lane while refusing to let them pass. But if ure on the slow lane and within the speed limit, then carry on.

But yes enforcement on all vehicles in Malaysia is severely lacking.
