For AES @ traffic lights.  What if traffic lights are faulty.  Will camera continue to shoot? Wat about bikers. They are the biggest TL offenders.  Can they still get off without getting caught ?
*
most likely; it may continue to shoot, but I guess they will vet before sending you the summon, and if they do, still you could bring it up in the court; with the pictures that they had provided.

Regardless of the timing, the lights are there for a purpose. In western European countries, nobody beats the lights. Even in remote regions like Andenes, northern Norway (above the artic circle), they respect the lights and pedestrians. Only 3 cabs in this city and yet the cab will never move until all passengers have fixed their seat belts. I once asked the driver and he said 'we were brought up to respect the law regardless'. This is something that Malaysians will need to learn.
*
totally in agreement here. but I guess, in more a quieter town, and after midnight, we should have flashing amber or timer.

On reason why things fails here, is that no is no enforcement and policing. If one breaks a rule on western countries, most of the time, you would see being pulled over.

With Malaysian mentality it will probably take another 50 years... Everyday when I go back home from work there are always people abusing the emergency lane no matter whether its a Proton, Toyota, Merc, BMW or Porsche. You think they will stop their overpriced recond cars for pedestrians??? In another 50 years maybe...
*
I dont think they are gonna stop even in 50 years mad.gif unless there is enforcement!

Seem like all these cameras are located at those area that the speed limit is below 110km/h, mostly is start from 60km/h till 90km/h, even some can be found at 30km/h and 50km/h areas. Our government really trying to suck our blood, and privatized the AES and the salary is from the summons we pay, so no matter how, they will try their best to make sure we will get the summons. Now I really want to know which is the private company that getting this AES project!
*
worst still its also located at where the speed exchange happens, like from 100kmh to 90kmh, 80 to 70kmh and 80 to 60kmh rclxub.gif

btw, what about tailgaters? sometimes those annoying buggers rite on your tailpipe, forcing you to speed until u got place to gv them space to overtake...in such situation the front car get stuck for the behind car get away rite
*
i guess there are 2 sides to tailgating here.

1) if there are coming faster than us, then we should give way for them, this is international rule, which being practised in most of the countries, unfortunately, in Msia they are not properly educated during their driving test. And the right lane are for overtaking and not for crusing; hence when we see faster cars, we should give way for them

2) but the problem is when there is a pile of cars, and the first most car that is slowing down the traffic, should be warn by the car behind him/her to give way for the traffic to flow. But at times, is very difficult to control the situation, hence the faster car should mind about it as well.

I tested mine.. it alert me at a distance of 500m
*
sorry, tested with what?

GPS? GPS doesnt detect, its a data entry for the coordinates and alert in the GPS map system.

as for WAZE, its again commuters feedback based on visual and then again, when they punch in the "Report"

unless you have radar/laser detector? biggrin.gif

Yes, I do have gps, but I dont want to switch it on for short errands and known places.  Now it  seems like gps has to be ON whereever we go!

Added on October 13, 2012, 4:22 pmIs there a leeway or they catch you at 81 on a 80km/hr highway?

How to drive 70km/hr on a 6 lane highway?  Fall asleep on the wheels likely.
*
yeah, recently I have switched to Waze, because I want to know the traffic condition when I drive, unfortunately it doesnt indicate road speed like Garmin sad.gif maybe I need to revert back to Garmin.
