I'm 26 this year. Got 9k+ a month. I'm in oil and gas industry, so that's probably why I got a pretty good salary. I also got Master's degree, which according to my company's interview back then, it helped me to get that kind of salary.

I think his reason for getting 15k is he taking Step up course from petronas and got degree for olil and gas also

I think it changes as your age increases.
When you are young, you want to earn more = Higher salary
When you are in your mid 30s or early 40s, you want to have a balanced in work-life = More vacation

Genuine interest? I think it usually happens when you have a stabilized income. You just wanna do what you really like.

but a sad reality is, in corporate world, the higher you get paid, the more nonsense politics you have to deal with
