from the news I saw many people happy for the Rm200 smartphone rebate, and also a news report states that 35% of freshgrads earn less than rm1800

and then from this thread it seems most people here are doing great, not eligible for most, if not all the money distribution scheme by AhJib.

really mindfucuk. rclxub.gif

The good thing is, this regional office in Malaysia just turned 1 yrs old. Should I stay or should I go?
*
your meal allowance is calculated on daily basis? eg. if you work 20 days a month, that means: 20*Rm50 = RM 1000? shocking.gif

Depends on the sector. If you're talking about the banking sector then 4% is considered very low. Usually without promotion should be around 8%. With promotion usually around 10% - 20%.
*
I thought banking sector is usually quite low

my friend in RHB IT department got like no more than 2% increment, but they have one adjustment (to cater inflation) and one increment (based on performance) every year

if your current salary is 2.5k+ then it's possible. my experience, only jump if new salary increase > 60%. less than that, i better stay.
*
yes currently is above rm3k

is it easy to score an offer which offer increment of 60%??

I think its quite hard if you remain in a relatively same job scope, 25-30% increment would be a more reasonable range

since you have 6 years of experience, have you already in the management role, eg. team lead, manager, etc?

IMO management position with appropriate technical skills could earn more than rm8k for your case

Job Title : IT functional analyst
Years spent in company : 3.5 yrs +

Experience before joining : freshgrad
salary : RM5k+

I got quite shocked when I read this thread.. I'm considered average / slightly under paid if to compare with other friends working in similar position / field.. I believe there are a lot tai gors out there didn't actually share their salary?  hmm.gif
*
considered myself as having close to 3 years (2.5yrs) experience in IT, nowadays even some lucky freshgrads also can get the same figure as mine

however, I aim for RM4k+ only in the upcoming job applications, making it within ~20+% increment range from current figure,

which is why I wonder, how are you underpaid in anyway?

gosh, I am getting more and more unmotivated in work thesedays, the increasing job responsibilities doesn't match with the stagnant salary figure anymore rclxub.gif

since you said this is your first job after grad, mind to elaborate on your increment history, and also did you undergo any promotion?

I don't think your boss will give you that huge increment.
Ask yourself why do you deserved that amount? You only have 2 years plus experience.
Remember that your boss can hire a year more experience than you just 3k-3.5k range.
*
I think you are not that familiar with current market range

An IT person with 2 years experience with either network or server specialization, definitely deserve at least RM3.5k and above, especially when he has CCNP

the day where I took up the offer, I knew very little in computer networking and server knowledge

after about a year, I feel more confident in these newly gained knowledge, as I get to handle all front-end projects alone everyday, this is even my senior who has been working for 3 years cannot do

I am the most junior in my team, yet I know and have to handle most of the shits, while still being paid lesser than the one who has very little idea on technical knowledge, this is why I felt emotionally unbalanced
