Same la, I also kena poison edi lol. For me, my friend is a racechip distributor so all my warranty issues or installation or removing it before sending for service should be ok. However he is not free to answer all my questions so I decided to post here and hope for some answers.

Swiss chip I have no idea, but I read once in some forum that all piggys/chips basically do the same thing. You should the one which has the best sales assistant, best customer service, and is able to answer all your queries and doubts since all the piggys more or less do the same thing.

However, all the numbers provided on the website like hp, ps, torque, charging, power etc etc are based on BEST case scenario so the actual outputs may be lower, so I was told.

Hey guys, I'm looking into installing a piggy. Racechip to be specific.

http://www.racechip.de/racechip-chiptuning...TSI-3453-r.html

Only one question, if you look at the details and specs, the difference between pro and ultimate is only 1% charging / 1kW / 1 PS / 3 NM of torque

I was quoted a price difference of RM300 between the two, ultimate being RM300 more expensive than the pro.

My main question is, is the extra RM300 worth it? IMO it's mainly for the faster processor and core. Of course the ultimate comes in a better casing etc.

Does the processor really play a big part here?

Also I'm driving a golf tsi 1.4, will the 7-speed dry clutch be a problem?

And can the gearbox handle the increased torque?

Thanks for your replies.

the current Passat, Jetta, Golf and Polo are using the 7 speed DQ200 DSG that handles max torque up to 250Nm..
the powerful Golf GTI mated with 6 speed DQ250 that handles max torque of 350Nm.. thus i believe Golf GTI still can be tuned up from its default 280Nm torque as DQ250 still can handle up till 350Nm..

correct me if i m wrong.. cheers..

Okay cool, thanks. But no guarantee for the gearbox issues etc right. It's just a risk I'm gonna have to take to my understanding.

It can be tuned like Error404, max torque almost at the DSG max capability (250Nm)
The RaceChip in your web >300Nm torque sounds abit scary, maybe those are for oversea's manual tranny..
mod with caution.... cheers ...

Leaving your piggyback ECU when you send i your car for service WILL VOID your warranty. You must remove it before sending your car in.. LOL.. Just in case one assumes..

yes the optimum range for DQ200 is 250nm from VWG published papers
compare to DQ250, there's a lower ceiling
so proceed with caution loh

fyi my polo 1.2 tsi using racechip pro, initially i was using it at max setting (7)
max setting is fun my stock figures are 105ps 175nm, i went dyno 109ps 202nm on wheel (ron95)
now i'm on 5 for the pass 2 weeks, better fuel mileage & smoother gear changing at low speeds

2nd time refueling. (1st time was I just got my new golf 1.4 tsi).

Average FC is 10 l/km, 80% city/20% highway, mostly short distance trip, 15 min. to office.

Mileage still below 1000km, hope the FC will reduce to 8 - 9 l/km. Achievable?

Hi guys, just picked up my new passat B7 yesterday. Any existing passat owners can recommend the best petrol to use for this car for optimum FC?

just to share about all this piggy back - that people claim cannot be detected.

It can be detected with the obd tool - all your parameters will be operating at a higher scale which means u have tampered with the car smile.gif

one technique is they look at your boost value. With these piggyback - your boost will be operating at a higher level Ie original max boost 1.2 bar but post box, maybe 1.4-1.5 bar?

This can easily explain why the car has performing so much more better - do you really think they stupid? maybe close one eye but when claim for parts exp turbo, gearbox etc, they will look at your parameters and if they are off the scale, then u are screwed

Aiyohh.. If like that have to postpone another 4 years la. I bought this car because of the warranty. Otherwise i might go for recon one. 1.4 rocco brand new is same price like recon 2.0 rocco 2009 or 2010.
