QUOTE(speedbird90 @ Aug 1 2012, 08:46 PM) Sounds like a good piece of advice dude. +1 to you! Hmm, then it is free after 10 years? cannot be ...Don't know man, SA told me continental cars depreciate approx 10% of it's selling price every year. So if you decide to sell it after 5 years, that's 50% gone! Wow Shouldn't be as follow: - say RM150,000 - 1st year RM 135,000 - 2nd year RM 121,500 - 3rd year RM 109,350 - 4th year RM 98,415 - 5th year |

QUOTE(climacool @ Aug 1 2012, 09:59 PM) Are you planning to sell your ride within this year or few year later ? If not, why are you concern on the re-sell value ? Unless you plan to sell soon, can u look into re-sell value If there's not much an maintenance issue, I will keep Golf forever. Just like Beetle ... I ask about the resale value as my Toyota Altis depreciate approx. 50% after six years. |

I encounter poor radio reception on Golf TSI, sometimes loud/soft intermittent, what's wrong? Don't find any radio antenna, are they thin-film type?
Thanks in advance This post has been edited by auronthas: Aug 9 2012, 08:49 PM |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Aug 10 2012, 11:49 AM) MFD -> Settings has option to increase loudness when the car is at higher speed (due to wind noise). Thanks for clarification, will check the settings. However, if listen to radio channels, there is buzzing / crackling sound every now and then. Very annoying. Already check and confirm with several other stock cars, all same. Added on August 10, 2012, 11:07 pm QUOTE(auronthas @ Aug 10 2012, 07:46 PM) Hi Cute_boboi I can't find the option for loudness ... 2nd time refueling. (1st time was I just got my new golf 1.4 tsi).
Average FC is 10 l/km, 80% city/20% highway, mostly short distance trip, 15 min. to office. Mileage still below 1000km, hope the FC will reduce to 8 - 9 l/km. Achievable? This post has been edited by auronthas: Aug 18 2012, 09:37 AM |

QUOTE(alwinnng @ Sep 15 2012, 01:11 AM) I think you are right, no wonder when I engage 'N', there is always symbol of brake shown, I should have depress brake when in 'N' mode. I always engage 'P' only then pull the parking brake, how to change this habit from previous auto transmission?
Any tips to enlighten me to change this bad habit onto DSG is very much appreciated. QUOTE(everclear @ Sep 15 2012, 10:46 AM) Erm me too. 2 questions: On question 1, I always press the brake pedal before start, and make sure all the indicator lights are off before start, if I am not wrong, if you do not press the brake pedal, there's an indicator light shown.1. When starting engine, I always just start it, press and hold pedal brake , release hand brake and then shift to D, release pedal brake and drive. Does the instruction means that I need to press the pedal brake too before I start the engine? 2. Upon reaching my destinations, I hold pedal brake and shift to P then pull the hand brake. Does this make a difference from the 'proper' way shown above? I understand that hand brake and pedal brake work differently. But I am not sure the rationale behind the instructions, is the purpose merely to (a) ensure that the car is absolutely at a stand still when starting engine and when shifting to P, or; (b) it makes a difference between using the hand brake or pedal brake when starting engine/shifting to P. Sorry for making this so clinical, but I just want to be very sure. Thanks guys! On question 2, as frosti3 explained few posts above, the DSG mechanism is to pull the parking brake before engaging P, I will follow, but problem is to keep reminding myself to follow this correct sequence, sometimes, when I am in hurry, I tends to forgot... Also, I noticed when pull parking brake and engage P, then when I release the brake pedal, the green indicator sign of brake pedal will shown again. My question is, do we always need to press brake pedal, even when we pull parking brake and at 'P' mode especially during idling of massive traffic jam? Hope sifu can enlighten more in depth, thanks in advance |

QUOTE(fr0sti3 @ Sep 15 2012, 02:53 PM) well so far i just follow them instructions, Right, I think we just follow the instruction, as long as the feet brake indicator appeared, just hold the feet brake (either N or P with hand brake) for the safe side on DSG.hand brake before P gear and hold feet brake before starting engine This post has been edited by auronthas: Sep 15 2012, 04:07 PM |

QUOTE(everclear @ Sep 15 2012, 06:34 PM) Okay...haha. Aih we bought this car to torture ourselves. >_< Hmm... why can't VW make it automatically brake if more than 3 seconds idling when it's at P and N mode, if German are smart enough ...N/P modes with pedal brake everyday. I will get a disproportionately strong right leg soon. Hope that VW can conduct classes on the correct way to take care of the DSG.
