peepz, my wira 1.3gli (2002) engine will suddenly gone off during idle or when i'm driving and then the check engine light will stay lite up when i start the engine back but then my car will be very very sluggish .. macam running on 2 piston.. i had already check the plugs and the cables.. but problem still occour although it's not frequent.. maybe once or twice a month..
stuff i had change in the past 4 month, -new set of plugs. -new oem air filter basically my car is stock.. no modification done and it's service regularly. so anyidea about the problem ? i wanna get it fixed as i'm doing a lot of outstation travelling. thanks. |

Looks like is the intake valve after air filter blocked. Disconnect the air filter set(rubber parts) then open the valve manually and clean it using clean cloth. It should solve your problem. Anyway when you change your petrol filter, is it black or not?

I'm using cheapskate mineral oil, (castrol sw 15-40) + Top engine oil treatment and proton oil filter. i service my car every 5.5k ~ 6k.. ermm that should be around 2~3 month once. |

fully synthetic cost more than 100 bucks la. its good on the engine. i say you better check on your timings, if not consider doing an overhaul on the engine.

Is it called throttle body? I think so, when the velve is open, the engine rpm will higher, like stepping on the accelerater. After clean it, you can see your car don't die on middle of idling.
Better to use semi rather than fully if the car is few years olf already. |

Hehe. . . my car's miledge oso quite high. . . 1998 batch, 189k km !
Btw, i am using normal mineral oil only !!! If use Synetic (tried) the oil will out of no reason vapourised and no oil left in engine, damm dangerous !!! Tried and freaked out when saw that after driving at highway !!! Imagine the consiquences that might happen. . . . . . Now Caltex's normal mineral oil doesn't give me any problem liao ! :-) |

If u think that ur idling speed is too slow/rough, try increasing the idling speed by adjusting the idle adjuster screw.Better to use semi rather than fully if the car is few years olf already. |

As car's piston rings wear and tear over time, it is better to use mineral oil rather than semi or fully. I tried fully before on my 10 year old Iswara, it take 2 weeks to get my oil lost 50%
Injection cars cannot adjust timing by the screw, only can be done using a machine. The throttle body is when we step on the accelerater, the valve will open more. |
