QUOTE(Ah WanG @ Oct 15 2012, 01:15 PM) i tot kuromon market is nearer to shinsekai? i checked google map last time meanwhile, is 4-6pm a good time to visit kuromon market? what time they closed? for shopping, i am staying near to shinsaibashi, there are alot things to see n shop there am i right? i can read chinese words, hope tat helps me hehe actually umeda sky building is requested by my frens for me, i feel abit redundant cos i am going to tokyo few days after osaka visit and i plan to visit tokyo metropolitan government building in shinjuku and roppongi skydeck , will have a visit to skytree but not sure will go up or not (cos i read tripadvisor, to go up need to que 2 hours for ticket so if i going to visit other sky high building, should i skip umeda? thanks all sifu http://www.kuromon.com/ http://www.tripadvisor.com.my/Attraction_R...ture_Kinki.html for shopping, yeah, shinsaibashi, dotonbori & namba have a lot to shop, to eat & to see. for me, i'll skip it. You will have a chance to go up to roppongi skydesk in tokyo, that is the best observation desk (for city view), further more, tokyo metropolitan gov building ann tokyo skytree, another best view desk could satisfy you i guess. For skytree, you can actually get the advance tix to avoid the long q. |

QUOTE(Ultimaweapon @ Oct 15 2012, 01:31 PM) In your case, to me, the Umeda sky garden is quite redundant then. I've been there 2 weeks ago and nothing spectacular compared to rest. You have to pay to go up anyway, its about RM27 (700 yen). Maybe 1-2 photo shots and then that's all to see. My opinion that its better that your time and money is spent elsewhere instead. QUOTE(menmissed @ Oct 15 2012, 02:20 PM) correct me if im wrong, you're referring to the Black Market (Kuromon Market) right? it actual location is near Nipponbashi, where it also a walking distance from namba & dotonbori. You may refer to the link below, thanks for the info http://www.kuromon.com/ http://www.tripadvisor.com.my/Attraction_R...ture_Kinki.html for shopping, yeah, shinsaibashi, dotonbori & namba have a lot to shop, to eat & to see. for me, i'll skip it. For skytree, you can actually get the advance tix to avoid the long q. i shall skip umeda sky building then yeah its the same black market, thanks for the link n info how to get the advance skytree tix? i only found the reservation method b4 july at their web meanwhile i would like to ask, is it a good time to visit kuromon market and nishiki market (kyoto) at 5-7pm? most of the shop will be closed am i right for dotonburi area, what is the time do the shop close? 9pm? |

I got lost in kuromon market while searching for dotombori around 5pm, most of the shops closes there but there will be some shops open but a lot of them are in the midst of closing already. The time closing for shops in dotombori varies. You still can see shops open around 9pm, but i advice to go there around 7-8pm. Lots of restaurant there for you to pick for dinner. I tried eating ramen there at a store which has a giant dragon head (There's 2 ramen store which got giant dragon head, which is a totally different store btw.) and the ramen was quite nice. I tell you, if you want to walk from kuromon -> dotombori -> shinsaibaishi -> namba, 1 night is not enough. Namba itself is big, And near kuromon market if i'm not wrong, there's a street called american street which I wanted to go to but don't have time. |

I believe u means Kinryu Ramen. I actually dont get all the hype of it coz for me its easily the worst ramen i ever had in Japan. Ichiran which is not far away is much much more better. |

Do u mean Amerikamura, so called Ame-mura? Thats in Shinsaibashi. Recommend route for you since u stay at shinsaibashi (if u want to walk), shinsaibaishi > dotombori -> kuromon > Namba, then u can take Subway Midosuji back to Shinsaibashi, or otherwise. |

QUOTE(Ah WanG @ Oct 15 2012, 03:51 PM) thanks for all the info Which hotel in Osaka are you staying?actually i has limited time for osaka once i reach osaka from tokyo and check in hotel, it's already noon after that i plan to go osaka castle, estimate 2 hours there after visit osaka should be 4pm like tat dy so from 4pm-7pm got time slot, tot of visit shinsekai/kuromon but macam too late right to visit kuromon dy since shops oso closing down for night is dotonburi shinsaibashi n back hotel sleep I thought the common check-in time is around 3pm? By the time you settle-in, rest and transport, you would reach Osaka-Castle around 4pm. By 6pm, its already quite dark (like Malaysia 7.30pm) due to the autumn season and nothing much else to see at Osaka Castle at 6pm in the dark. Osaka Castle Musuem entrance closes at 5.30pm by the way, see if you can rush there in time. It is a long walk from the station to the Castle, ~ 1 hours? So, by 6.30pm, Shinsaibashi will look like a high-class pasar malam. Just a friendly tip so that you won't make the same mistake I did. Take the train to Temmabashi to reach Osaka Castle, don't look at the maps provided and think the nearest trains stations are what you thought they are. Nearly lost when going there, stopped at Umeda as it looks and near, and due to the locals or me not understanding each other's language even with a map as the map is in English. QUOTE(Ah WanG @ Oct 15 2012, 04:30 PM) oh i will be staying at Hotel Villa Fontaine Shinsaibashi Osaka, near shinsaibashi station If I remember correctly, yes they do allow for early check-in, but cant confirm.yeah i know check in is 3pm i will put luggage at counter and ask them to check in at 3pm so i will try to leave like 130 or 2pm they allow for that right? If not, since you're staying near Shinsaibashi station, suggest that you leave your bags at the hotel to decrease burden and walk around before the check-in time. Leaving at 2pm from the hotel should be no problem. You'll arrive at the Osaka Castle Museum with plenty of time to spare. |

QUOTE(edmunz @ Oct 15 2012, 05:39 PM) want to have a romantic time with your partner?I don't know if my suggestion can help you much but.... There's a ferris wheel at a shopping mall called Hep-Five near Osaka Station. The ferris wheel is quite high. After shopping or dinner or whatever, you can just take her there i guess? And also, there's a SEGA arcade in the Hep-Five shopping mall where you can ride all those 3D/4D rides or just take her to a Haunted Doll House to scare her a bit lol! |
