I live in Nerida too! Apparently one of my neighbours told me that there was an Indon guy with a parang trying to break in a house opposite the tadika (jalan 96F I think) but he got away. This happened in broad daylight apparently.

On the brighter side there are more guards now - 4 by my last count.

My advise to new owners is to keep this forum and somehow get together to discuss the security of your homes. Good camaraderie here is an excellent start to a great and safe neighbourhood.

This is really disturbing to hear....

For those members of Fern Lane - might I suggest we meet up to discuss on the security measure that can be taken into consideration prior to us moving in?

The other phases members could also join in to chip-in your ideas that maybe mirrored to your respective phase as well.

I have already spoken to a Security Manager (a friend of mine) to visit my unit once I have the keys in hand to assess the Safety & Security measures to be taken. This well could be applied to other fellow Denai Alam'ers as well. The both of us have assessed the layout of the house to pin-down the weak links for forced entry. We have a few ideas already tho' it comes at a cost. smile.gif

If we have a detailed list of break-ins & attempted break-ins that had occurred in DA, I can write to the Police Department on our concerns and seek their co-operation in beefing up the security around the area. nod.gif

If I am not wrong there is still no police station/bilik gerakan for the entire DA. Can we get SD to write to PDRM to set up one?
btw, what is the occupancy now at Nerida.. last trip i went (2 months back) was around 30% I guess.

Just FYI, here is the number of Bilik Gerakan Selangor: 03-5520-2022. This number will be patched to the nearest patrol car.

This is shocking to me sad.gif , it is a new case? For your info, we in Nerida already set up a shadow committee to register with ROS. I hope you already know about this. Flyers about the meeting had been sent to the whole Nerida. We are waiting for the feedback from the committee.

Hi rfm,
mind to share :

We subscribed Unifi mostly because we link it to ADT. Since we rarely watch TV, we unsubscribe Astro and live with HyppTv that comes with Unifi. So that saves some money.

Added on July 24, 2012, 1:14 pm

Hi, By subscribing to ADT, What is the agreed response time to get someone on the spot after the alarm triggers?

Don't be too hopeful that ADT will get someone to be at your house smile.gif . Their response time is marvelous to me so far, but to get someone means you must call the patrol police yourself, after ADT informs you about the triggered alarm. Some people said police won't responce to ADT.
So far, I have good neighbours that I can call to help looking if something is wrong, after I get calls from ADT;). Anyway, this is my case, I have no idea how ADT works somewhere else.

And the police responce time is around 15 minutes, according to a neighbour whose house got attempted break in;).

Tks...trying to think whether it is effective at all.. as most of the time now these type of alarms is more annoying to the neighbours than to alert them...

Yes, that's another thing. But I'm comfortable having it than not. Just be sure to avoid false alarms;)

For security cameras, I can recommend someone (at least someone who has patience to introduce products, communicate well) , he is from this forum itself... search for 'pocketcctv2u'
