Depends lor, coz I also participate in their thread sometimes. Some clubs are friendly, some not so much.

Some car clubs like the Inspira club in LYN, I stay far far away.

spirited drivers of saga blm owners, please suggest me brake pads.

was looking for EBC Blackstuff, but not available for our model.

anyone using Ferodo Zero?

am using Bendix MKT at d moment. pedal feel abit on d stiff side. ladies (wives) may not like it. stronger legs needed. abit warming up needed in d morning too.

braking - slight tap on pedal will reduce speed quickly. very much improved confidence when following cars closely (cucuk-ing). ultimate grip more or less like stock, meaning not easy to lock wheels, but can feel grip with much less pedal travel compare to stock.

rotor wear - i assume will be higher than stock cos of harder/metallic compound.

Just to share. Today I sent my FLX for servicing at SM Nusantara, Seberang Jaya. I've highlighted about problem of "tak tak tak" sound during braking that comes from rear brake. During servicing, the mechanic opened up the drum brake housing. I also checked internally together with the mechanic. He cleaned up internal parts using compressed air and I noticed he scrapped out the edge of the brake lining which looks like bulging out ( I think due braking, the brake lining tends to give away at the edge when having contact with the housing, and cause not even contact surface after some period of time, explain why first month no sound of this). I think this is the root cause for the tak tak tak sound, even the braking grip is there. Today I didn't hear any "tak tak tak" sound, several times play with the brake while driving.

p/s: If the cause is the brake lining, maybe there is quality/material issue with the brake lining, perhaps after this need to change with other brake lining ( but I believe there are other users without this problem )

any1 still wanna get it??as long before this saturday then should be alrite....

regarding the branding issue, well, castrol is the most famous engine oil in the world,y dont u use it forever???i believe that spend more $$ in rnd and the quality itself will be better than using it in branding and advertising, eventually vttr brakes are almost as good as brembo, but i dun tink all of u know wat is vttr,as long is proven and the quality is there, brand is not an issue, even the engine oil i using now is cheaper and better than castrol,i dun even care about the brand, just like torqnm engine oil....

just my 2 cents.....popular doesnt mean that it's better

i'm getting lots of bad reviews from Bendix.
there were cases where even the Ultimate model caught on fire after one time of intense braking.
Metal King Titanium, lots of dust and making a lot of noise. So, i dont really prefer Bendix.
Thats why im opting for something else.

Thinking of getting Ferodo Zero, Rapid Stop and still checking on other brands.

U can try jalan kuala kangsar, the huge proton showroom (Proton SC just behind it). Look for SA name En Fairus. Last time I got additional RM500 discount when I check through online to compare dealer in KL ( but I not manage to get the Smart TAG and Touch n Go). In Penang, I found dealer that not give any discount at all (but depend on that month promotion I believed). BTW, FLX does come with tinting.

ok, do try others n share ur findings. Ferodo has a new type called MAX. not sure whether it's replacement for Zero or not but i saw it in shops already for BLM. RapidStop shud be good bit a bit pricier.

no dust mean our sport rim won't become dirty (normally front rim got dirty compare to rear rim), am i right? hmm.gif
how much does it cost? and how was the brake efficient?

It is obvious that brake pads does produce dust. Im quite skeptical about Ceramic pads because you need to warm them up before it reaches the optimum performance.

My wife will also be driving this car so, i prefer to have the brakes working even when they're cold.

What ceramic pads are you using?

Its not possible to not have any dust at all, due to the friction produced to stop your car. Less dust, maybe.
My 2cents.

It could be possible that your rotors has been slightly 'Warped'. If you are not familiar with the term, kindly click here -------> CLICK HERE

Well, mine too. after my brakes heat up for a bit, i will start to feel the minor vibration.

68k? without servicing brakes? well, you need to keep the car running but you also have to remember that you need to stop your vehicle on time. Do you want to sacrifice your life and others because, I bet your car is fast, but not able to brake on time?

What i can suggest you to do is to bulk order with me on a new pair of Brake pads, then the both of us can have better sleep at night and we can save more on the new pair.

Anyone else interested? PM ME. cool2.gif
