Someone over at FB said Nokia will launch special edition Pureview that will cost RM2k++.
Anyone hear about this? I would love if there is a back case that can be changed and colourful like the one they has for Lumia 710.

It's a common problem with businesses in Malaysia, top management donno jack of what they are selling..
Like those top management goons running M** Bookstores, not a single one reader them self and donno anything about books, rely solely on licking gov asses, business suffers close branches everywhere...as compared to Kino, run by smart people who read and know deeply about books, one shop only but make more profit than all M** outlets. shakehead.gif

Is there any mobile audio lover care to comment on the audio quality (via headphone of course, not the speaker) vs other better mobile devices, either handphone or non-handphone?

Thanks.

Hardly any comparison in this area.

ps: Discovered last night, read from other website. Pureview alarm can be set, then the handphone be turned off (totally off, not the standby mode). When the time comes, the phone can turn itself ON, and buzzle the alarm. It will then ask you whether you want to remain to be off or to be turned on.

So you can actually turn the phone off without disturbance over night, but the alarm still work the next day !

It is a special Symbian feature (ie alarm on although it is being switched off). Another special Symbian feature I think is Always On Clock (not for LCD or IPS screen though) that consumes little power.

this alarm feature is actually possible across all hardware with Real Time Clock chip built in.
a phone doesn't FULLY turn off everything once you switched off. the CPU enters hardware standby (not software standby) and the RTC still keeps time with very minimal battery usage (unless you remove battery or run flat).
so the remaining questions are the OS designed and availability and accessibility of this feature.

heck...even a full blown PC could be setup for this kind of alarm to turn it on with the PC left fully shutdown but power chord switched on.

I remember downloading an app for my Nokia 5800 that can switch off the phone at a certain time and then when the alarm triggered I will switch the phone on. Very handy to save battery and avoid from late night call.
But nowadays rarely turn off the phone because it acts as a clock as well.

As far as I recall, Nokia Symbian phones (and Meego-N9) all the while can do this, since years ago.
I think most of us Nokia fans took this feature for granted and assume it's a standard for handphones
