If you still haven't got a smart phone (chances are you have at least one already), get this phone ! I used it extensively for a day, recording the event both in photos and videos (30fps in full HD). It is confirmed to be very usable in realife. The videos are all recorded in mp4 format, easily played with media player or media classic home cinema. Audio recording is just very good gotta admit.

One major problem I have for video recording is the wind noise. And you need to use the strap that comes with it for video recording. Handphone is not very ergonomic to be used as a video camcorder. You may drop the phone anytime while trying to get proper shooting angle etc.. Unlike the normal camcorder which it comes with a proper strap to hook around your neck when you shoot something.

With this phone, obviously you cannot have fine focusing by eyeing at the subject. But with face detection technology etc, its actually very much effective to record daily events like in your case. Unless you are into creative photography, otherwise this phone will be your only device you ever need anytime of the day, wherever you are, even during your work, your holiday trips, or on-site shootings. No doubt about that.

Another feedback:

The headphone that comes with it has just an average sound quality. I tried to compare it with my iphone 3GS headphone, but it turns out to be incompatible ! I mean there is a message that comes out informing me that iphone headset is not recognised.

But nokia headset ear pieces fit into my ears better than iphone's. Thats for sure.

Ya, I know that DSLR need some deep knowledge to fully utilize them, which I really worry of tongue.gif
Nokia 808 was always my first choice previously (extremely portable, and features rich device), but then my siblings advice that dslr seems to be more flexible and match my purpose even better (kinda logical)
and now with dslr like d5100 and d3200 being priced so low, my heart starts itching already sweat.gif

wow thanks for sharing your fruitful reviews!
Haha ya I got smartphones already, but this doesn't stopped my strong urge over 808 tongue.gif

The major problem that you outlined is what I've been worried of..
and I've watched some videos captured by laymen, the videos seems to have a little stuttering especially while panning around, it's indeed quite disturbing;
but couldn't deny that the sound quality is just beyond awesome (omitting wind noise drawback), much better than dslr without external mic attached! (This is also the reason that hold me back from buying dslr) sweat.gif

good point but u dont compare the quality between dslr and cameraphones ya coz they came from different area...but still,if u already have a decent phone,my advice is go for dslr...but if u plan to change your phone, then go ahead change to 808..IMHO icon_rolleyes.gif
i'm using N8 + 550D...mostly i use my dslr to snap pics of tourney but when i wanna snap pic with the players,it is hard to find someone that really know how to use dslr..so,i end up lending them my N8 instead of my dslr to snap a portrait picture etc.(unless like my convocation pic,i hired someone as my photographer sweat.gif )

Dslr is not a thing where u can always bring along...

808 u can bring all day long....

Compared my n8 and 550D, i use n8 more than 550D... The dslr is mostly for a planned event....

Of course image quality, dslr would be better but smartphone is much more feature rich...

Mana satu? You judge.. tongue.gif
