I just got Maxis Fibre last Friday. I'm now checking out how to change the DNS to Google's DNS. Everything seems fine so far except this one bit that's bugging me.

Hi all, some help needed.
I'm currently on Maxis Home Wired ADSL Broadband connected to my laptop via Ethernet cable. I want to install a WiFi devise so that I can move around my laptop. I went to a computer shop and the lady there suggested I get a Wireless router & connect it with the ZyXEL modem that Maxis gave. But I also saw a ADSL Modem+Router there that I could directly connect with the telephone line but the lady said it might not work with Maxis ADSL. What is the issue with an ADSL Modem+Router? Can I get that one or I should buy a separate Router? Thanks |

I'm using maxis fibre Thomson 784n + Zte ZXDSL model from tm. How do I connect my maxis voip phone to this TM router? Is that possible? I am staying in high rise building.
Just wanted to replace my lousy Thomson router with a normal access point with dhcp function. This Thompson really give me a lot of problem. I just want the maxis voip work on TM modem, so that this tm modem will function as modem + router. Any sifu can help me? Thanks. |

QUOTE(ChrisMin @ Aug 18 2014, 06:49 PM) Hi, I just use the WR1043ND as my custom router. Everthing go smooth, I'm facing the same problem as you. My speedtest just maintain at 5Mbps and the torrent also got half speed. Not sure what is the problem. Do you able to resolve yours? Appreciate that you can share...... Im surprised to report the same finding. Half speed when using Asus router, full speed when using Maxis router. Will report... Update: I try many setting and apparently Smart QOS is the reason behind this speed cut. Turn it off and everything back to normal. This post has been edited by andrekua2: Nov 21 2014, 01:41 AM |

Great... finally figured out an easy way to bridge the Mikrotik to Technicolor on Maxis's own FTTH infra. A similar method can probably be used for Maxis on TM FTTH.
1) Create a bridge between the WAN port connected to the Huawei ONT and the port connected to the Technicolor gateway. 2) Add a bridge filter rule to block VLAN 11 (or 622 if on TM FTTH) from being forwarded from the Technicolor port. 3) Everything should work now. I noted down that VLANs 6, 14, 15, and 17 are in use, but I didn't bother figuring out which services are using them. |

Or you can just select Bridged(HSI)GPON+VoIP in the configuration setup to link your own router with Maxis router while keeping the voice services

hi guys, want to ask a question here, sorry for my bad english btw
My fren's house install maxis ftth and also subscribing Astro iptv connect to the maxis thompson Here are the situation. Currently he subscribe another Astro iptv (2nd astro iptv) which is connected to the asus rt-n14u router. Once connected the asus wifi will totally cut off means no connection at all. If unplug the LAN cable from asus the wifi will be back to normal and internet connection is ok. Already tried everything but till now wifi didn't work. I show u guys the diagram. TM BTU | | | Maxis Thompson-------->1st Astro IPTV (1st floor) | | | Asus RT-N14U----------->2nd Astro IPTV (2nd floor) Problem is at 2nd floor which is asus router installed. Using LAN cable, internet is ok. Only wifi unable to use once astro iptv connect using LAN cable. Any solution on this? Thanks. |

last friday, my internet suddenly dead, then I tried around and end up with switching the LAN port from LAN2 -> LAN3 behind TM BTU fixed it. Got internet back on.
But yesterday, it's dead again, and this time the TM BTU LAN LED is not on at all, no matter which LAN port I switch to, not working as well... Anyone have any idea? |
