You can access the Alcatel Lucent GPON but it is in command-line based and there is no option to configure anything besides to register the modem onto TM network for authentication.

There is no web GUI access.

I have connected my ac-66u router and thomson router (both wan port) to a spare switch and this switch connects to the gpon unit. I have managed to log on on both routers, but funny thing happens: Maxis allows me to surf Google and Maxis website only on the asus router side!

So, need a dedicated computer running on OpenWrt for Astro IPTV to run or flash the router with that?
U couldnt get the router to run stand alone? Btw im using DL 820L.

What is the VLAN number for the astro IPTV? I tried 823 and it doesnt work.
Also TR069 (Management) is 822. Is this the management thing that astro uses? Checked the dlink router page , couldnt find that section under the VLan bridge unsure.gif

Lastly in the advance network screen do I need to enable both IPv4 and IPv6 multicast streams for iptv to work?

Moved house, had to switch from TIME to Maxis cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

Anyway, the GPON unit given to me is a newer? model: HG8240H

As far as I can tell, there's no problem logging into the admin interface at 192.168.100.1 without messing with anything using telecomadmin/admintelecom. Did a port scan, telnet and SSH are either off or blocked.

Interestingly enough, all 4 LAN ports work (seems like there's no more VLAN tagging) and the settings screens are very different from the screens posted in this thread previously. The LAN ports only work with the default RG provided by Maxis, all other routers do not want to connect via PPPoE.

Anyone have any clues as to how to get a 3rd party router working with this new hardware?

Common using on TP-Link TL-WR841HP or TL-WR1043N should work on Maxis FTTH.
I'm currently using TP-Link AC1750 Archer C7 v2, on OpenWRT firmware connecting to Maxis FTTH (Stock firmware failed to connect).
*they are people said Archer C7 v1 is unable to connect the VLAN Tag for UniFi/Maxis, what I read...

Think all the VLAN TAG compatible Open source Linux WRT based Router should be able to connect Maxis FTTH, but it is a bit tricky for settings.
Correct me.

Has anyone had problems with their VOIP phone since using the HG850a as the 'router' ?

It used to work for me until quite recently I found out that the VOIP phone no longer works. When you pick up the phone, it's got an indefinite beeping sound.

Then I rechecked the settings on the HG850a seems the VOIP settings have been wiped off. And whatever username/password pair or settings I use now doesn't seem to work. Obviously calling the Maxis center is pointless - tried it but they wouldn't disclose much information.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm trying to get VOIP to work on the thompson router while using my own custom router for wifi. The setup now is currently

AN-5506-04B [LAN 2] ------> [WAN] Asus RT-N14UHP
AN-5506-04B [LAN 3] ------> [WAN] Thompson Router

I've disabled wifi on the thompson router, can't seem to disable the PPPoE, can't find such a setting. The telephony screen shows that its not connected.

Does anyone know how to change the default DNS settings on the Thomson? I saw some guides that says telnet and then log in as Administrator, but the telnet port seems to be disabled now.
