NICE! thumbup.gif

But roo bad the WEI only detects the intel chipset as GPU, hence the 5.6!
In reality i thinks it a bit higher...
Did you take the 15R with 1TB + 32GB SSD or just the 1TB?

However, it's Good to know that dell has overcome the BSOD issue!

Mine is the 1TB + 32GB ssd. Very fast startup. Don't have any games to try, though.

Hi guys,

I was wondering if someone could help me with the following questions:

1) Is the Microsoft Office upgrade for RM99 worth it? (Ad free, etc)
2) Is the warranty upgrade worth it? And if so, how many years do you guys normally buy and why?
3) Any other specific items you guys think are worthwhile adding and why?

Hi.

1. Not sure about this, I never purchased before. If it's the full Microsoft Office then I think it is worth it since it is original.

2. Yup, definitely, most people upgrade to 3 years InHome Service After Remote Diagnosis around RM349. When your laptop has problems, just call dell and they will send a technician to fix/exchange the parts next working day with no question asked. e.g. you call them and say overheat, they will just come and change a new fan for you.

3. If for Dell 15R SE, I think the FHD + 32GB mSata SSD + backlit option is worthy. The rest I don't think so.

I see. Thanks for the info!!

1) It's upgrading from starter edition to Home and Student edition

2) It's tempting, but expensive. I guess you get what you pay for. I'll need to think about this carefully. What do you think about Dell's reliability?

3) That's what I'm thinking about as well. biggrin.gif

the microsoft office home and students they give is OEM version.meanz non-transferable licence, it will stick at the 1st pc that u install forever. if one day ur laptop being robbed the software gone together.(this is theoretical explanation, coz some of it can still install n update after applying same product key in another pc) comparing outside it is cheap.

but....

microsoft office home and students family pack version u can get at lowyat plaza for RM170-RM190.come with 3 licence and transferable licence.

if careless user and always travel with laptop---complete cover warranty is the best.or else go for 3 yr warranty for the basic package.(if u have budget)

Ya, for the 14R SE, its using NVIDIA. thumbup.gif
It has a better switching programe than AMD. Also you can even set the NVIDIA as "primary" in its control panel rclxms.gif but not for the AMD doh.gif . (based on my search in other forums)

but overall, both are almost the same in performance with NVIDIA flex.gif leading by a bit!

Anyway, i had to go for the 15R SE because it is has the msata SSD 32GB drool.gif ! which utilises all the 4 cores to the max! compared to just a HDD 5400rpm sweat.gif

BTW, hows your gaming experience with it? hmm.gif

I get your point. I'll definitely take that into consideration.
