The HDD is 5400rpm, so 5.9 is normal... the bottleneck in performance will most probably be caused by the HDD hmm.gif
Please do keep us posted, this is a hot model and I'm sure a lot of people are waiting for reviews notworthy.gif
You can obtain temperature readings by downloading HWMonitor nod.gif

Thanks~

alrite alrite. will post soon. i've been thinking of removing the dvd drive and install a ssd into it. biggrin.gif

Then u're limited to Sata2 speed. Better make it as main HDD and put main HDD into ODD bay.
Congratz on your purchase btw.  thumbup.gif
*
thought of that biggrin.gif will place ssd at the main hhd bay while the hdd at the odd bay XD but idk its worth anot. and will the optibay caddy fit ? haha still thinking about it smile.gif

how about the temperature when playing games?
hopefully it doesn't get overheated fast @ @

and oso the display quality..?
*
well, been leaving it idle since 1pm till now, no heating issues. and yes, it does feel a bit plastic to me coz of its design i guess. yea i'll be uploading a few pics, sry for the late posting as i was a lil bit busy. i played a few rounds of LoL just now at very high settings and benchmark fps, no problem at all biggrin.gif about offline games i havent try it out yet. will test it later or tomorrow. and btw, all the usb ports are 3.0.

When did you place your order? I place mine on 22nd until now still 'Work in Progress'  sad.gif
*
yea. sound is from skullcandy. its decent for me. still i think b&o sounds better tongue.gif err i was using coretemp for the temperatures. running averagely at 64 degress on all cores. gpu nvidia 640m is running averagely at 56 degress on idle. i placed my order on the 19th. smile.gif

Actually would like to know on keyboard quality. I usually spend quite a good chunk of my time in front of a laptop typing documents and doing presentations so a good keyboard is important for me. I would love if the keyboard is as good as the Thinkpads tongue.gif

My last purchase of Asus N43SL. The specs are great but due to the poor keyboard quality, I sold it after owning it for 4 months.

How about this Dell keyboard? Is it comfortable to type on and touch? Is it plasticky?
*
well the keyboard is a lil bit soft. feel quite fragile for me. lol using an external keyboard here, which is also 5 years old dell keyboard tongue.gif

*
havent been gaming coz was busy for the past few days. the only game i've played on it is league of legends. well i've been on the laptop from 8 till now without turning it off. the lappie is only a lil bit warm only. no overheating issues. core temp at average 60 degress on all cores at 56 degress on gpu.

Wah, so serious ar?  shocking.gif
The keyboard buttons are plastic right? It looks similar to the keyboards in the current Inspiron 14/15  hmm.gif
*
its not serious at all. the reason im using an external keyboard is because im a person who types hard and when i game, i tend to like bash the buttons tongue.gif and yes, its plastic. i do like the keyboard, thats why i dont wanna damage it biggrin.gif

there seem to be some dusts at left part of the image, is that part air intake?

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ May 30 2012, 08:12 PM)
From the pictures, it seems like the speakers are located at the front? not the usual spot below the LCD?
*
QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ May 30 2012, 08:46 PM)
IIRC, even the previous 15r speakers located at front.
*
QUOTE(crazyivan @ May 30 2012, 10:37 PM)
what i notice here.. 15R SE includes price of bag while 14R SE need to pay rm69.
*
ah yes, coz my apartment here is very dusty as there's a construction going on very nearby. wiping the lappie everyday biggrin.gif yup, the speakers are located below, not above the keyboard. sound is decent enough for me though biggrin.gif and about the bag, if you select it online, you have to pay rm69 more for it. i personally called dell to order the lappie and asked for the bag and they gave it to me for free. lol its a belkin 15.6 bag btw tongue.gif

As what danleongwz mentioned, you can always bargain for the bag, or for more discounts...
The bag is quite good in terms of quality, but its kind of ugly haha sweat.gif
*
have to agree with that. doesnt look really good, but what the heck, got it for free biggrin.gif

he only give me the bag when i opt for extra waranty.. what other freebies u asked for?
*
im having the 14r which is using the gt640m with optimus. no it does not get confused switching between both of them. when you full load your comp with games etc, you can notice it as you can hear the air blowing out from the heat sink beside the comp. erm, i did not check the fps. i set everything to high, 2xAA and it was very smooth. dare not set it to ultra tongue.gif i did not opt for extra warranty though. no other freebies. just the bag only. smile.gif

im suspecting the nvidia 640m is giving problems. even nvidia official website doesnt have driver support for 640m and 650m. used the auto detect driver and it cant detect my driver version too. gonna contact dell technical site tmr and send them the minidump file.
