Same goes to mine...if u notice, the radio volume sometimes varies..
My other problem is I can feel the car is waiting to be unleashed if I drive slowly..

radio volume varies could be because you have the variable volume turned on. if you go faster, the ambient noises will be louder. the radio will automatically increase volume. when you slow down, sometimes the radio takes a split second slower to tone down to match the speed. i normally turn the function off.

as for the slight left veering, it is normal for psa products. citroen has this mentioned in their promo brochure in singapore. they added that if it were to be corrected, it could lead to pre-mature tyre wear.

Unleash la bro and enjoy the power......hehehe! Don't worry these engines don't need running in. Infant I have read reports calling for hard break in and they claim better performance!

Apparently if you run your new engine hard during the break in period,it is claimed the engine moulds in to a better fit and improves performance.

A question for sifus:
Mine is the turbo. I found the car quite bumpy at speeds above 130kph. I know the sports tuned suspension is stiffer and undulating roads conditions may cause this effect. Can this effect be reduced by normal tyres,at the moment it's on low profile. If so,what would be best tyres. I don't mind the handling compromise,if any, in this case.

Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2 ?

And check your tire pressure again.

But since i drive my 308 very fast, I never set the pressure lower because rear of car will be bottoming quite hard at high speed / uneven highway (like Pasir Gudang ). But I think in KL are mostly smooth highways. Example, some set the car to F36 R36, some like F36 R34, SC sets the car to F40 R40 (!). But in the end, the psi sticker shown at the door is the best one to set it to.

Hi guys....bad news...my 408 turbo central locking is causing so much problem now......when in the car i cant lock the car with the central locking button at the center panel. It will say front right door open when its obviously closed. When i off the engine and get down from the car i cant lock the car with the remote. It will not lock. If i use my key to lock it manually only the driver's door is lock but the back pessenger door can still be open

So now currently my car is consider unlock. Really bad luck with this car.......either is bad unlucky or really peugeot car quality is really terrible....car just 1 month but already 2 times masuk SC

Hi, new owner reporting..

Taken delivery of my 408t on 29th June, white colour. Already booked for 2.5K inspection at Balakong SC.

So far no big issue. Alignment slightly pull to the left but already rectified. But now steering senget sikit to the left. Harsh sound from the engine during early morning start but I guess because of the turbo engine, bunyi rabak sikit kut. Phone bluetooth can only make call from previous numbers called. Not from phonebook. Average 9.7L/km. 80% town driving.

I stay in Cheras and saw another 408t, black colour in my housing area. But true, quite difficult to see one on the road  biggrin.gif

Try pressing the remote (lock) about 6~7 secs. Let go, Then press again (lock) for a few seconds.
Works?

For the veering left issue, it's the same with 308, so far I send to Plentong JB to repair it and I can say they did a good job. I dunno what they did. But it's nothing to do with alignment or tire pressure. The Service guy tell me they known how to solve it, even I remain sceptical, after I try the car it's true they solved it. But I dunno other SC.

Other thing is for those that get crazy vibration on the steering wheel above 130kmh, and it still happens after balancing and alignment, what you do is 'cross' the wheels.

It seems like a lot of new 408 user here.So can we do new listing for all user?

Mine still no problem for now. Going for 2.5k service next Saturday 9am at seremban SC. Seems like cannot get booking appointment on that day in Balakong and Puchong. So decide to go for seremban SC.

don't exceed the inspection schedule. many void their warranty by not going for the 2.5k km inspection. all the best. look for tara to help you.

Standard tyres on the car are CSC3 which is claimed to be top in comfort and low noise, apparently better than Goodyear F1.Will try CSC5 normal profile next time around.

I checked the door sticker and noted the min pressure is 2.5 bar. Have set all tyres at 2.5,notice better comfort on ride. Road irregularities are less pronounced. Will try high speed on my next trip out station.

Doesn't matter how many times masuk SC. I will be happy if the SC can solve whatever problem we encounter. That's when the warranty has value!
No point 5 year or even 10 year warranty if masuk, come out, masuk, come out many times and still problem stay!

Yea i have to agree with skyjack.......no point giving us 5 years warranty when its so troublesome cause the car keeps giving problem. They make some adjustment to the doors and according to the SC the door does not make contact that is why it wont lock no matter how.

Hope its a permanent fix....really can dissapointed that after just 1 month the car gives so much of problem

Went for my first inspection last Saturday at Seremban SC. Have to wait around 30 - 45 minutes for my turn as apparently the SC is only open until 1pm. One couple came in without appointment and little commotion broke out but SC has to give in and inspect their car as well.

When it's my turn, I went to participate in the inspection and highlighted few things. The technicians claimed that the sound from under the hood when I turned on the AC in the morning is the belting. Couldn't argue much with him since I couldn't demonstrate where and how the sound was at that time. I also complained about the rattling sound from the front-left door and he took the car for a short trip before coming back and fetched a screwdriver. I was a bit worried assuming that he want to take the door trim off (in case something more serious occurs) but he was just tightening the screw on the door trim.

Once finished, they show me the report which includes the diagnostic report done to my 408. Browsing through the report, it shown 1 fault on 'ECU communication with transmission/gearbox' (couldn't remember exactly since they refuse to give me a copy of that report claiming it to be 'confidential'). They was kindly enough to let their technician explain it to me and point out to me that the fault is intermitten and not permanent and has been cleared, although I couldn't see anything indicating that the fault has been cleared in the diagnostic report. Couldn't understand what the fuss of not giving us, the owner of the car, the diagnostic report. They however gave me the inspection checklist.

After the inspection, I found the tyre noise is significant, but since azbro mention above that SC will pump up until 40, I will check the tyre pressure, reduce it to recommended pressure and observe the noise from the cabin. The noise on the front-left door trim is still present, but I shall leave it as it is. Another thing I noticed after the first inspection is, the caller's name will be displayed instead of just phone number (before inspection). I believe their diagnostic software will fix any bug/problem found. So for those who're having difficulties in accessing the phonebook, maybe it will get fixed on your first inspection.

I shall rate Seremban SC 7 out of 10 (slightly above average). But to be fair, it's just a small SC and I didn't faced any difficulties in dealing with them. All in all, no major problem as of now and still satisfied with my ride! icon_rolleyes.gif

Tks for your feedback bro kejusan. I am not very keen to fix my phone book problem for fear of ending up with more problems. Especially since this is not a important item for me.I have a faint rattle at my left rear door, apparent only at high speeds. More keen to fix this.

Easiest is to get a tyre pressure indicator. This tool is calibrated in psi. It's slim like a pen with a sliding scale. by pushing the head of this tool on the air pressure nipple at the tyre, the sliding scale pops out and stops based on the tyre pressure.
I just go to petrol station and use the air pump. At the pump there will be a bar to psi conversion table. 2.5 bar is 36 psi.Btw 2.5 bar is for low load, you might need to set 3 bar if you often carry rear passengers.

i have a pcl brand tyre pressure gauge. been with me for more than 10 years and a pretty good investment. no need to look for petrol stations to check tyre pressure low or not. plus, sometimes the tyre pump at petrol stations could be rosak and give you wrong pressure. i have checked this many times already.

Still need to go petrol station if pressure is low, unless you own a air compressor! If you own a compressor, still need to go petrol station to fuel up! So might as well do everything at one go. After all it only takes a few minutes more. Having said all this, I think a pressure gauge is a good investment!
