i had been used my asus for 1 years and i want to reinstall back my windows 7. Then i notice that the product key is totally different than the product key displayed on the back of my laptop .....
*
Well almost everyone dun know that now the notebook manufacturers are suing their own OEM Windows installer to make the production line easier, so the product key u see from the previous OEM version is sure completely different to ur product key which is attached from backside of the laptop...

illegear still have to claim it from ASUS i think.
*
True, but as Illegear is the one doing the repair/replacement, there is a higher chance that the illegear technician doesn't break something else.
Asus Service Center Technicians range from incredible good to incredible hulk. If you kena the hulk one, they may end up breaking more things than fixing.

Another thing is Illegear can customize the laptop before sending to you (Can add an SSD, more RAM, Diamond thermal paste, ect). & according to Prince J (Illegear's Rep in Lowyat), the estimate repair time is not more than 1 month, usually 3~4 days.

Asus still cannot tell me what is the maximum time taken to repair/replace a laptop. So if I were to get a G75, I will probably get it through Illegear as they seem to have better customer service.

Any advice?

Illegear definitely has better warranty support service.
But Illegear still has to get spare parts from Asus. As Prince J if they get directly from Asus Taiwan or still has to rely on Asus Malaysia sweat.gif

At the price that you get the G75, might as well go for the illegear RS-17 laugh.gif icon_rolleyes.gif (better GPU)

From what I see here, the main problem seems to be Asus Service Center.
I'm thinking of getting an Asus G75 from illegear. So far, I haven't heard any horror stories about them yet.
*
They still have to source the replacement parts from Asus Taiwan, that part of the procedure takes up the most time.

Asus G75VX currently has the GTX670MX.

Illegear RS-17 has the GTX680M. Currently Illegear is having a promotion

FREE Crucial M4 128GB SSD Primary Drive Upgrade
FREE IC Diamond Thermal Compound
FREE Professional Color Calibration

But even with this, its almost RM500 more expensive. (without the promo, it would be RM1000 more expensive).

As for Illegear service, PrinceJ so far has responded to all my questions promptly, even though I have yet to buy anything from him. Asus, errr, has taught me patience. a lot of patience.

Plus, I haven't been able to find anything bad said about illegear yet but there are a ton about Asus SC. (Note: I am talking about the customer service center & the lack of service from a few bad apples there). Really wish that Asus would fire the lousy ones & keep & reward the good ones.

Not sure if I am able to post here. Just to clarify, we don't liaise with local ASUS service center for repairing even though some of our stock comes with the warranty covered by them. Most of the repairs are done by ILLEGEAR staff.

So end of last year my house got lightning strike and for no reason, my desktop was one of the victim (desktop is off during strike), and my friend (i always dealt with him) sent the motherboard to Asus the next day after he picked it up from my place. Ended up waited for 4 months for the motherboard to be fixed. Power issue done, but LAN port cannot use anymore. Anyway we moved the desktop to my parent's office and bought a USB wireless receiver. Till now no problem.

Typing this from my Asus A55V i bought few months ago. Hope no problem... please......
