QUOTE(yakuza1_45 @ Oct 5 2012, 05:05 AM) kpdnkk cannot handle overseas case.i already ask before...our law cannot take respon on case that send item to out of country or buy it from there.if ts want complain on asus malaysian maybe can...but for wat???.kpdn ask back, did u get back ur warranty claim...if stolen maybe they can help... So the conclusion = no solution? I hate the idea of having to buy a laptop and pray that it doesn't have any problems Just like refusing to buy insurance and praying that everything will be alright |

I like Asus products as well, they really know what the consumers want, apart from the warranty support, that is |

I don't think so... they will not pay attention to small ants like us anyway...last time ppl try to post in asus fb but just to get the msg deleted. efficiency sibei high damn it. Its the same for Toshiba, I'd complaint up to Toshiba Singapore and Toshiba Japan, at the end of the day its all just a waste of phone and faxing money... The only thing you could do is stop buying their products, if you don't like the brand |

I run into this thread, and I would say your experiences will probably dissuade lots of lay person from buying a Asus laptop
However I also sense that a lot of you actually like the Asus design / pricing, and will embrace Asus again should its warranty services get back to "reasonable" level There were some interesting ideas, i.e. facebook, complaint with Taiwan HQ ... Generally I don't think this will be effective. To get thing moving, you need to publicise it. Example: the Foxconn labour issue. It has been there for a long time, but by having major news agency carrying the news by linking it with Apple iPhone, that's a stroke of campaign genius. My suggestion: Hit it where it will hurt. Asus laptops are being reviewed all over the internet. Most of the time, there are rated quite favourably. A lot of potential buyers all over the world read these reviews. What you need to do is to consistent post on the user forum of these review site, to highlight your issue Some of the review site I could think off: notebookcheck, notebookreview, anandtech, tomshardware ... I believe you could come up with many more. Organise: You could split up and assign a site to maybe 2 or 3 victims here. Action: Post a comment on user forum, whenever a new model of Asus laptop is being reviewed. There should be plenty of opportunities. Objective: Paint a doubt in potential buyers all over the world on Asus warranty services. That's it. Just "doubt". Duration: Execute this plan consistently over a period of say 1 year. You could review the effectiveness from time to time, by sharing the number / type / general response from readers from these sites. Message: Be consistent, Be rational, Be factual, Don't be angry, Don't hyper-bole. My suggestion is that the 1st post is a standard draft. You just copy and paste Feel free to amend the below draft. Just come up with something that you are comfortable with: "We would like to share our bad experiences dealing with Asus warranty services in Malaysia. Examples include: Asus service centre take more than xxx months to repair xxx. Asus take more than xxx years to refund .... (Quote concrete examples) ... (Post links to threads). This type of bad warranty services has been on-going for xxx years, with numerious complaints posted to Asus Malaysia, Asus Taiwan HQ ...., Asus is just paying lip service and giving empty promise, and there has been no improvement in service level at all over the years. Our expression of grievance on Asus facebook (and other social media) site, on the other hand, has always been deleted with utmost diligence and urgency. Buyer Bewares and Good Luck." Oh, I am not working in IT sector |

I really dont understand how all these shitty services came from.
I had a faulty Asus laptop. And within 3 days, they changed the screen, mobo, and few more minor components for me. When it came back, it was as good as new. It is still kicking now after 2 months from service. I satisfied and surprised to get a phone call within 3 days. It was the lowyat plaza service center. |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Oct 14 2012, 07:41 PM) Thanks for sharing your inputs bro Good luck, and some of you need to start the ball rolling. Call yourselves "Save Asus Malaysia Alliance" maybe Not sure whether it will work or not (because the lousy warranty support is only true in Malaysia) but its worth shot... Suppose I am a lay person anywhere in the world who don't deal with laptop or IT on daily basis. There is no way for me to know how good is Asus warranty service in my country, unless I go out and check and try to verify. Your message, if convey properly, will plant a doubt in their mind (an idea, like Inception the movie Imagine this scenario: Asus launch a new laptop. I saw it in somewhere, and I like the design. Before I buy, I decide to check some review. Every review site that I go, there is this group of people from a country called Malaysia who tell me these "horror" stories of Asus warranty services. My first reaction: "is this happening in my country as well?". Even if I later found from other sources telling me Asus warranty services is very good in my country, I will have a bit of doubt. Even if I later decide to buy Asus, I will probably remember these stories from Malaysia, and possibly bring it up somewhere later. This will hurt Asus brand image. Be prepared, Asus will probably come out firing |

My family have been using Asus laptop for over 8 years now. I understand a lot of frustration that a lot of people here face and I believe that Asus Malaysia have actually 'refreshed' the management team several times in the past 3-4 years.
I guess one of the major problems faced by them was the problems that were left there from the old management and they do not have the right person who have been able to tackle the problems correctly. But so far, I have not receive any problems from their service *touch wood*. Have sent in 2-3 laptops for my own family for several reasons such as changing screen and laptop casing *my sister dropped the new laptop* and having them do a warranty on a hinge problem *old A Series if I recall correctly*. Response were swift and professional. Guess I was just lucky? |
