something you have achieved. eg. President of student society and basketball club....etc
Also, something interesting from your family. eg. family who want you to be someone.

And also, try to be as calm and natural as possible. Interviewers dont like people "faking' stories just to impress them... biggrin.gif

It is actually personal preference, you can tell about your family and all only if it is relevant. If it is totally useless, then don't bother.

Keep in mind that some interviewers are not proper interviewers.

Some intereviewers are just managers who are forced to be in this position.

Some intereviewers are just managers who might be extremely busy who are forced to be in this position. The last thing you want to do is waste their time talking about some funny family history or perhaps you giving him/her an emotional "pep" talk.

to be honest, for me, the most important thing you have to do before going for an interview is to ask yourself: why do you really want the job? and, why do you really want to work in the company? is it for the money? is it for the price of pride? These shouldn't be the main reason of why you should work for a company (although these things do matter). Anyway, plenty of research is certainly essential for success. You have to demonstrate that you're really passionate about the job and that is something you really wanna do! hope that helps smile.gif

I'm so stress... I can't even sleep well, I able to stand the yawn when the interview session is on.

err.. I feel the interviewer talk more than I talk. bad sign? T_T
I just nod and answer yes and hmm.
He said you looks good, nothing much, shouldn't be a problem. T_T
will I fail later? 6 months on training program. 24hrs anytime get fired.

No specific question given except one, what you know about the company? bla bla bla.. and he continue...

~~~ some dialogues... ~~
We work hard, and we play hard.
Me : I can work under stress.
Him : R u sure?
Me : Yes. during college life, there are 5 projects on going. And I've no problem with it. I love challenge, I'm okay any place you put me in. Cuz I'm ready to learn. ^^ (Smile~)
Him : Good.
Conclusion, I'm require to fill any form or application. weird. means fail? friday going to get result.
And friday I got another interview. Under now I still feel under stress.
(a big embrassing had happen to me... >.<) I'm not use to with high heel. The shoe is kinda big for me, accidently the shoe came out fr my leg. T_T Thanks god he din realise it.
I'm so tense until feel vomiting.. I'm tired~ is worst than presenting FYP or deg. exam. T_T
after interview when they said.." we will seriously consider ur application and will give u a call in 1 week times...mean??izit unsuccessful??
this happens to me also few times.
1st interview, after the process done then they said they might contact me in two weeks time...but then after 2 weeks no answer. i guess it's less dissapointing way to show that you failed the interview. points taken.
then after graduated i try to apply my current job now. bla bla bla & then lastly the qustions was "do you have any relatives/friends working in this company?" i said no, in fact i know about the job in the newspaper, try my luck sending resume & then hope for none. then they said "we will contact you in 2 weeks time"....at 1st i guess i was failed also becoz of the 1st experience. but it doesnt....
conclusion is to wait
Just a short tip to share here, whenever the interview session comes to an end, I always take the opportunity to ask for the business card of my interviewer. There are few reasons for this:
1. To thanked the interviewer directly post-interview.
2. To follow up with him/her after 1 or 2 weeks to get any feedback
3. If unsuccessful, to keet their details as one of your invaluable business contact in the future. You never know it might come in handy. smile.gif Try to think positively
I didn;t browse through all the previous 13 pages of posts here, someone might have mentioned it before, so apologise first before hand.
i think it will be all right to even repost this. it is a great idea to get hold of the name cards.
when i first started off interviews after school days, it never crossed my mind how important is that small piece of card. i have always wanted to write thank you note to the interviewer but most of the time, i did not have sufficient contact details.
now being in the workforce a while, i think it is more important than our IC. people whipped it out at every opportunity when meeting new people. hahaha.
Hehe I personally kena many terrible interviewers ... some too soft, mostly very very lcly (cos usually i interview with CFO/FC/Finance ppl)
Generally I feel the HR ppl will be more professional, its the Hiring Managers that lack the ... style I look for in a boss, I don't go for gangster type, i prefer those who can accept my input with open mind ...
Yes... most financial companies have such attitude, especially interviewee from an Engineering background wanted to go into Financial industry. They will tend not to understand engineering terms (though such positions offered from them is like Customer Engineer or Quality Engineer) and at the end saying you are wrong in any sense. There are some I met who are quite cocky, especially when they think their English language is so superior, which I don't think they are.
