Question : Would you apply a different position from the same company which you went for (unsuccessful) interview before?

Would I? Yes I would.

Should I? No I shouldn't considering that they already have all my data. If they see it fit me,they will either offer me or etc. But the best would be to just call the interviewer up and thank their time for interviewing you. SAy that you saw another position open. Wonder if you would be suitable to apply for it. This will save u lots of times and headache.

Hi guys,
I will be attending a job interview soon and the company requested for my salary slip. Am I obliged to submit it? Is there any written rule that states that salary slip must be submitted during job interviews?

Well there isn't a written rule but they might use it for verification purposes just to know that you did work in that company before and you are not lying about your previous salary.

btw, how come no one ask "what to ask during interview"?
coz too often my mind went blank during interview,
no knowing what question to ask other than
- employee benefits
- annual leave
- salary
- probation period
- working hours
- job scope

any idea to add on my question list?

- employee benefits
- annual leave
- salary
- probation period
- working hours and working days
- job scope
- bonus
- medical benefits
- insurance
- dental benefits
- % of EPF contribution from the company

should bring this list in the pocket. Interviewers will usually be impressed with these preparations. thumbup.gif

here's my case,
i went for an interview a week ago, to be exact - Sept 5th
i was in this interview showing sort of no interest of the jobscope it required to be on call 24x7, thus i wasn't sure if i could take it, anyway the interview said will arrange for a 2nd interview in few days time.

my problem is, should i write up a thank you letter & ask the status about it? my concern is, is that consider very late to write a thank you letter?
or just call up straight to ask for the status of the interview?

Thanks.

seems like a bit too late to write thank you letter.
but if u seems like u do not have interest in the job scope, do u still need to call to ask for the status of the interview?

Questions like these shouldn't be asked during the first interview for the following reasons:

1) The interviewer might think that you are more worried about the benefits rather than the actual position itself
2) If you are a fresh graduate, the interviewer might be impressed that you have done all these preparations but if you didn't prepare for the actual interview such as research on the company and job scope, it can backfire.
3) The only questions I find relevant to ask during the interview would be "probation period", working hours and days and job scope. This might come in handy as it shows you are interested in the job.

i had a very bad interview experience. All the people who came for interview sat arount together and introduced yourself.  when it was my turn and i was ready to do a very good demo, but i was ask to repeat the first guy's words about his introduction. I was very embarrassed for dont remember anything about him. So that is a good lesson for me!~ Sham!! cry.gif

Wow, that is quite bad but thanks for sharing with us here. Something which I have not personally faced but heard of it occurring to my friends. One of these is an interview where a guy from Belgium attended in London. After taking the Eurostar (train) and a London black cab, he entered the interviewers room and the interviewer just asked him one question before asking the interviewee to sit down. If the interviewee couldnt answer the question, he wouldnt pass the interview.

The question was:

The interviewee left the room.

Moral of the story is:
