I just had the most bizzare interview I have ever had in my life.

All I did was to show my results, so that the interviewer could verify with the ones I put in my Jobstreet account. After that, she said it is done and I could go home sweat.gif

I'm sometimes fail during interview. I remember my first interview when I was in form 1, apply for Yayasan Selangor hostel. amazingly, I forgot the Selangor's song although I've sang it everyday during roll call in primary school.

the best thing is, since you guys can access the internet, do a lot of research about it and don't forgot to rehearse it a ot in front of a small audiences to gain your confident.

Guys... Please let me know the best answer for below question when interview:
1. What makes you intend to work in our company?
2. What so special of you that make us want to employ you?
3. Why are you so interest in this carrier?
4. How you show your leadership in work?
5. What contribution you can give to our company?

dude, these questions are so general. You must at least know which industry or career to you are focusing in order to match the questions with suitable answers.

I guess the first thing you should work on is your spelling and grammar right? brows.gif

To be frank, if you can't even communicate your message or sell yourself well, its going to be a huge uphill task for you mate.

Yeah that is definitely much better, it is better for you to be corrected rather than getting all the answers on a silver platter....

Oh, haiz guess I've made a mistake already... cause I'll be having an interview with A this Friday 2pm, and then just now I agree for another phone interview with B on 4pm. I'm now worried that the interview with company A unable to finish by 4pm then I'll missed the 4pm phone interview with company B.

And as told by the agent for company A, he told me that I'll be going through the following sessions:

1) Aptitude test
2) Job assessment test
3) Fill in forms
4) Interview

And as of now I was unable to contact company B for a reschedule cause I forgot to take the caller's details.

Yeah. With those, I seriously doubt that you could make it on time.

As for company B details, look it up yellow pages or call 100 for information.

Hi friends (age is not a factor),

Just a piece of advice, don't memorize any common interview answers. Just be frank but do practise it occasionally to make it look believable. Questions like, tell us about yourself? Seriously, we don't need you to tell us about your education background from a to z or where you are currently living since we have your resume. Instead, tell things out of the resume... perhaps you could focus on telling your hobby? For example, travelling might allow us to perceive you as an outgoing individual. Look at the job requirements... tell hobbies related to the job. You could even tell about your university experience, on how working as a team or problem solving methods which have helped you in tasks. How do you carry out your task either meticulously or otherwise. Yeah, if they ask you a question and you can't answer on the spot... tell them 'that's a good question' while trying to figure out how to answer.

In reality, any tom, d*** or harry can get a job. There is no real specifications for a resume but when writing it... do think rationally. Put things that matters. For example, putting common biodata like nationality, or your ic number does sound funny since either one shows you're a malaysian. Moreover, putting ic number and date of birth is funny isn't it again? since it either one shows your d.o.b as well. Seriously, these spaces can be used to put other things instead of allowing the pages added to your respective resume.

Believe me, if you want that job, you'll get it. It just depends on how sincere you are. If you want the job for the sake of money, forget it! well, you may get the job but how long will you last? Anyway, all of us will eventually work, it just takes time. While you're still unemployed, do some charity work, it helps during the interview and your resume writing process.

Lastly, i take no credit in these writings, if you really want to thank, pls add more info or inform the friends in this board regarding job openings in your company or elsewhere. All the best!

Signing off,
Kz

p.s. as for love^gm, your questions? only you can answer;
1. Why did you apply to the company in the first place? Its' reputation or
desperation for a job?
2 What makes you special? Well, what does your teachers/lecturers/friends/mom
and dad say about you?

For the rest, since you applied for the job, it is only right that you try to modify the question and answer it by yourself cause 'you hold the key to your future'.

Guys... Please let me know the best answer for below question when interview:
1. What makes you intend to work in our company?
When I first heard about the company, I knew that this is the company I'll be working with for the rest of my life. With it being a listed company and its esteemed reputation in public, I believe that the company can provide a great deal in my career advancement.2.

What so special of you that make us want to employ you?
Im the type that is willing to learn, and can just take any fall in life and climb back up quickly. With proper guidance, I can go very far in this industry. I can take any challenge and adapt to it real quick.

3. Why are you so interest in this carrier?
This carrier greatly suit what I am studying during my past few years in my university life and I know that this is the only career I'll be doing  in my life. Also, I am into jobs that revolve technical skills and machines and this job has it all. I really see a wide range of growth for me in this industry.

4. How you show your leadership in work?
Nothing can be done in a team without a good leadership. To have good leadership, teamwork and teamspirit is of vital importance. Hence, firstly I'll try to get to know the members within the team. If members in the team doesnt acknowledge you as their leader, or hate you whatsoever, nothing can really be done. And of course after I gain their trust, I'll lead the team to achieve the target. So, thats basically how I show my leadership in work.

5. What contribution you can give to our company?
I'll try my best to get every jobs assigned to me done in time and that includes working on shift or overtime during the weekends. After I join the company I'll also look into area that needs improvement in my department to ensure better production yields.
*
This is what Im going to say for an interview, and Im jobless fyi incase you wanna use my answers.

babylck: u r expecting they return the courtesy by sending you a 'You are welcome note'? hahaha.

has anyone of you have the experience of sitting for some tests during the interviews? are your scored revealed to you? otherwise, do you take any initiative to understand how you have performed?
*
They did give me some IQ test on maths related stuff, eg a car travel blablabla and xxxxx and whats the distance, etc.
Some are really hard. I think I scored 37 / 50, cos the interviewer flip it and i saw the my marks.

Isnt the email address usually listed in the job advertisements? If they dont display it then it should be fine not sending a thank you letter.

You can search online in the normal search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc for the company's website, then go to the company's website for contact/career
or job agency portals like Jobstreet, JobsDB, JenJobs
or directory in business like
Yellow pages, White pages

yeah, 103 also works

If you would really like to send a thank you letter to your interviewer.. ask them for thier business cards during the interview. It OK to ask for business cards during interviews.
