I guess it is normal to be nervous for 1st few interviews. After that, you'll be fine. As for me, I'll get nervous when they bombard me with tons of technical questions.

^ Not really. If you put your elbow on top of the table, that's rude.

At times you have to state your expected salary in a given application form during the interview day.
Sometimes, interviewers will ask you for the minimum salary that you could go for. |

After the interview session, write a thank you note to them via e-mail.
Interviewers will tell you how long to wait for a reply (normally it takes 2 to 3 weeks). But after a week or so, try to follow up with them. Send them an e-mail or give them a call to ask the status. At the mean time, look for more jobs as you wait for the results |

Yeah. Shouldn't be a problem. But most of the time, they will decide whether your requirements meet the expectation or not.

If that's the case, you could ask for more. Sometimes they include OT, allowance etc which eventually sum up to your expected salary (or even more).
Don't keep your hopes high though as they have a pool of candidates to choose from. But as we all know, it is common to work more even if it is stated there 10 hours job or so. It is total crap that they will stick to their words. Only a few companies practice it. |

Go ahead. Give them unless you have bad reputation in your previous company.

If you are applying jobs from different locations, it's best to say No.
If you say Yes, it gives the idea that you have other options if you don't get this job. OR you may jump to other company within a short period. |

No. Please do not do that. By doing that, it is like dealing with traders in wet market.

QUOTE(babymiki @ Dec 5 2006, 11:14 AM) what if there is no 2nd interview? can i still ask these questions? and is it suitable to ask these questions for a post in hotel industry? You could ask any question regarding their field of work during your 1st interview. You don't have to wait for the second one to ask those questions. |

Try to arrange this order;
Resume -> Testimonial -> Uni's academic results -> Uni's extra curriculum's certificates -> Secondary sch academic results -> Secondary sch extra curriculum's certificates Always put the recent ones first. They are more interested in your uni academic year rather than what you did during PMR year As for the last question, they probably looking at your profile/results/co-curriculum and compare it with what you stated in your resume (the one you sent to them earlier). Some might talk crap in their resumes but have nothing to prove.. This post has been edited by goliath: Dec 12 2006, 12:06 PM |

There are few interviews that I attended which require me to sit for an exam. They didn't reveal the score to me during the interview because I guess they don't have the time to mark it.
There's one interview I attended which asked questions on the spot. Not like those subjective questions whereby you write your answers on a piece of paper. That's scary and I don't have to take the initiative to know how I performed because I myself know how bad I did it This post has been edited by goliath: Jan 17 2007, 12:01 PM |

I just had the most bizzare interview I have ever had in my life.
All I did was to show my results, so that the interviewer could verify with the ones I put in my Jobstreet account. After that, she said it is done and I could go home |

Yeah. With those, I seriously doubt that you could make it on time.
As for company B details, look it up yellow pages or call 100 for information. |

Do you guys fold up your sleeves during interview, assuming that you are wearing long sleeve shirt?
Is it alright for me to do that? |

QUOTE(Mavik @ Jun 20 2007, 01:54 PM) I try not to fold my sleeves up if ever I am in an interview unless they ask you to perform some sort of activity or work which requires you to move your hands about so folding up your sleeve might improve your productivity. When folding your sleeve, make sure that you fold it nicely. Some people might disapprove of it but some might not. Disapprove as in they will tell you or you lose some points because of folding up the sleeves..? |

Question : Would you apply a different position from the same company which you went for (unsuccessful) interview before?
