Hey guys, I'm getting an interview for a 3D Animator job. It's my first interview, what do I need to know? What kind of clothes am I supposed to wear? I can't imagine wearing a formal shirt and slack for interviews in this field.

Don't worry too much about what to wear.

For experienced hire: If you've been in this industry for sometimes, you know what to wear. What you wear in your normal office hour will be the same like what people in other companies wear.

For fresh grad: Just wear nice and polite attire. Even if you wear wrong attire, it's fine. The interviewer knows you're fresh grad.

From interviewer perspective, we don't care about what you wear. We're there to see what you're capable of. Not what you wear.

After all, if you got the job, HR will brief you what to wear on daily basis

Case by case I'd say. Do u think it will be a good reasonfor them to lowball your salary?

I had been went through the first interview with the Division Head and HOD last few week.
However, recently HR people email me and arrange another phone interview with HR manager.
What should i prepare for the phone interview? Normally what kind of question they are going to ask via phone by HR manager?

It's about a week since my last interview and I haven't hear anything from them.

Shall I email the HR and ask for some status or something?

Thank you

Never wear jeans or anything that suggests you're taking the interview casually.

Show intent, and your intent is to get the job.

I'm going for a job interview soon, and I will be away next year for 10 days (4 days weekend), therefore, I have to apply 6 days leave. Should I inform my employer during job interview or after working for awhile?

Thank you guys

LMAO never use MC lah. Just say you need to take leave. In all of the companies I work at, if you apply leave 5 days beforehand, no questions will be asked. So just arrange for the interview in a week's time, and apply for a leave. No questions should be asked.

If you MUST take a shorter notice leave and a reason IS required, just say that you have to "attend to personal matters".

Be discreet and smart about it, for sure.

Hi, usually how long time frame will be given after an interview for someone to join a company?

My current company is going to close but we don't know when exactly yet as we will be released in batches.

I'm worried if i go for interview without knowing my last day and i can't join, i will be blacklisted.

Hi,

I have this scenario and don't know how to handle....

I attended an interview 2 months ago in a small consulting firm. Got an offer from the employer the following next week. They know my notice period is 3 months and had prepared the offer letter to me. I had signed the offer letter and supposed to start work next month.

I attended another interview 2 weeks ago in a bank (because the bank called me for interview). I got their offer letter yesterday.

So, I am in dilemma now because I feel like joining the bank. Reason is because more benefits, AL, bonus, etc.

Is it okay to reject my first employer? How is the best way to inform and reject my first employer?

I will be going for lectureship interview soon. Does anyone know common questions interviewer will ask? There might not be a lot of candidates to be interviewed because it's only for PhD holders. However, I am so nervous that I might blow the chance. I really want to work with that university because of brighter future in research and collaboration with overseas university. Therefore I might have a chance to do 1-2 years attachment in top overseas university.

This is going to be my first job interview in years since I continued with my PhD study. Anyone with experience to share the job interview session experience?

Thanks

Get a read on your appointment letter. To be safe, just follow the notice period. Once u received your offer letter and all the conditions stated are acceptable, just tender your resignation. If u are released earlier then u can inform the future company to amend the offer letter. Key point is to get the offer letter ready.

Nope it is not ok to reject your 1st employer since u have signed the offer letter. However u can try to talk to your 1st employer on the conditions to let u go off without any payment in lieu. If that didn't work out and u still persist to join the bank, then just pay the salary in lieu and tender your resignation on the 1st day of work at the 1st employer. U'll get blacklisted though.

If u fulfill the conditions stated in your offer letter in regard to termination/resignation then unlikely the company will sue u. Suggest u read carefully and talk to the HR of that company. Try to achieve mutual content on your intention to leave on the 1st day of work or earlier.
