Hi all,

I've interview with new employer this week. The new employer called and request for latest 3 months payslip.

I would not wanted to show them is there any way to avoid it? like reject them politely?

or you guys just show them the payslip?

Just say you are not comfortable sharing this information at the moment until a solid offer is forthcoming.

Perhaps a face to face interview coupled with some tests?

Hope I'm not too late to answer, but when asked to do this, I crossover/blacklist all the number.

The only valid reason they would need to see payslip is to verify employment, not looking at salary. Why the heck anyone would share their current salary is beyond me. You lose the bargaining power.

Granted I've worked for only less than 10years. But I've jump to few companies and the amount of increment that I got for every move was rather decent. I think it's mostly due to my firm stand on salary negotiation.

If any HR people read this, and you still ask for candidates current salary "to proceed further", your hiring policy sucks.

Hi people, need some help here icon_question.gif icon_question.gif
When an employer invites me for 'a chat in our office', is it an interview? Should I wear formal? The company's dress code is casual cuz it's a tech company, but I'm applying for a job in the marketing team instead of the IT team, so formal wear should be more suitable, but am afraid of overdressing... sweat.gif rclxub.gif

Edit: Also, I just received a call from another company for an interview and said ok. So during my first interview, IF i'm offered the job straightaway, would telling them to hold on because I have another job interview the next day diminish my chances of getting this job? (never experienced this before icon_question.gif )

the best is u call and ask the dress code , whether you can have ur comfortable attire . if you shy to ask then formal is the best to go.

if you got immediate offer just tell them that you need to take time consider and tell them you will get back in following days. After you done ur 2nd interview , you just compare which one you want . if 2nd company do the same then it is up to you .

Hi guys, fresh grad need some advice here. confused.gif
I have attended interview 2 weeks ago in one of the medium accounting firms.
The interviewer told me that the HR will take 2 weeks to process my application. However, i get no response and thus send a follow up mail to ask the status.

Within hours, the HR replied that the status for the application is still under processing. We shall contact you again after we have confirmed the outcome.

Wanna ask if I still stand chance for the job offer? Quite looking forward to join this firm as starting point. cry.gif cry.gif

It has been 2 weeks from the date of interview.
As the hiring manager said it would take 2 weeks so I have send an email to follow up on Monday.
But it has been 2 days and no reply from them.
Is it indicated I failed already?

Omg I'm just too late to see this post.
For last week interview, the HR requested me to photocopy 3 months pay slip and I provided them. But I'm not really interested on the job offered. Any other thing they can do with my pay slip?

Agree, this is just an excuse for most companies, though not all, to avoid giving you a clear indication. Based on my experience, if the company is really interested in you, they will call and offer you the job just a week after the interview.

Agree. In some cases, they might be still waiting for other candidates.

what should the increment percentage be when jumping to another company?

As employer, we don't give them automatic increment.

Rather we give the candidate a chance to JUSTIFY their requested pay.

That they crossover is NOT a justification.

So far, after countless interviews with candidates, no one can make proper justification, save one.

We don't look for and we don't want to know their past/current pay.

For all I know they can be earning 1k only.

But anyone can request for 10k salary.

But please JUSTIFY.....

What's the polite way to reject if they want to see your salary slip?

I received an offer from a company and they request the latest 3 month salary slip.

Obviously if I give them, I lose my bargaining power. But I'm not sure how to politely say no, I can't give my salary slip.

They are the one asking for 10k or more so let them propose.

I'm already being lenient by not asking for current salary.

I will just say no.
But maybe the more proper terms sounds like so. "Unfortunately my current remuneration is confidential and I'm bound to not share it as per my employment contract".

But do digest this http://www.kalzumeus.com/2012/01/23/salary-negotiation

We have to negotiate from position of 'yes if'. Meaning make sure you're positive that you're in, minus the salary part. Also stay firm, make sure you're ready to walk away if they unable to meet the expected number.

I was told that my interview result will out in 2-3 weeks. However, it was almost 3 weeks but didn't received any outcome from hr.
I had sent one follow up email to a senior hr, but my email was forwarded to a principal hr. After 3 days, I send the 2nd email directly to principal hr, still no replies. This means?
