another problem for the backlit keycaps, they are coated with a layers of paint and the ligthing part is drilled away,
so that the part are light transparent, so when the part other than the wording wares off, the part become transparent too,
the light will come through. that make the keycaps look Fugly.

If a keycaps are not backlit, the inside and outside of the keycaps are same color,
so as it worn down, the color wouldn't be much different.

painted keycaps are not drilled, they are being laser engraved
Actually you need not to worry too much about the paint worn off. It won't wear off easily, unless you are a very sweaty, oily and doesn't maintain your keyboard at all. Then that's another story

Don't makes painted keycaps looks ugly. Every keycap does has a lifespan which applies to ABS, cured ABS, POM or PBT as well

You are right, sorry for misleading comments, every keycaps will weares off, unless you do not use it.
just what I mentioned are relatively, and by comparing, wearing off is an issue for every type of keycaps.

I am tempted to order custom key caps from http://www.wasdkeyboards.com

Shipping is roughly 10 USD. Anyone have any experience before?

According to ripster, it is from the same mold as the KBC PBT ones available from Taobao.
But I prefer Ducky's packaging.

Do you have any info on price for the White Engraved (without infill), as well as whether there are 87pcs type?

AND............... SOLD!

My Steelseries 7G plus the keycaps are now sold!
Cyclone you can remove me from the Steelseries User list anytime.

It was a great keyboard, but after I used to the Red Switch Leopold Keyboard, I no longer felt comfortable typing on a black switch, that's why I decided to let it go.

Now that I m used to type on the HHKB, kinda not feeling that comfy typing on the red switch too......

But that one is for all the keycaps that I get.
