bro, you're the 2nd people that i saw first get into mech with cherry mx switches, then test almost all of them, and lastly tried ONE Realforce and the end result?
Sell off all cherry mx switches and on the way to get another RF.....

the first one that i saw is bro KianWei if not mistaken, RF really that nice?  shocking.gif  shocking.gif  shocking.gif
*
BTW, I not almost test them all, I really tested them all, cherry MX that can be get anyway.
Those rare Green switch, yellow switch, white switch, orange switch, and such I never tried.

For Topre Switch, Try it and you will know. brows.gif
It doesn't necessary meant that Topre switch is the best of all,
but it suit me the best and also it is completely different from other,
so I found it hard to coup with other switches, when I switching around different keyboards,
that will make me felt awkward for some time before I get used to it.
Maybe some people are able to switching between different switches easily, but not me.

So I decide to keep only my HHKB for general typing, chatting and uses,
and the Leopold Red switch, for my Diablo 3 game, Diablo 3 keycaps and other keycaps modding. thumbup.gif

without shipment also quite costly right?
if you want them to ship the thing nicely, I think that's what it cost......

Added on May 5, 2012, 3:53 pmAlright! Since I have sold my Filco Blue Switch, I m now putting my Steelseries on sale,
if any one are interested please do not hesitate to ask,
if got friend are interested also can introduce them to see.....
and I put together the PBT keycaps on sale too, in the same tread,
If any one are buying the keycaps alone, they are welcome,
but if who want to buy the keyboard before the keycaps are sold,
they have to buy the keycaps together with it. those are the term.
if you guys think the price are not too good, can suggest also.
anyway, hope I can sell it off, so I can get a ..... you know what.

The bumbung arrived today.

The bird electron roof could fit onto the Poker easily, but seems like this one is a tad oversized.
But anyhoo, the roof from bai was very cheap, and it's good enough for me.

Have not tried it on the HHKB yet.

So it's neither I guess? lol

EDIT: after going through the design etc. I think it's a modified style of rubber dome. Finally got an answer after wondering for so many years lol.
EDIT2: seems like it's similar to topre switch

LOL,Microsoft Natural Keyboard : something similar to Topre Switch......? shakehead.gif

Need to choose the correct type of tropical wood.
My Grandma's Jati (teak) made cupboard is still holding even though it is already more than 50 years old.
*
For wood, the best wood from Malaysia Peninsular is Chenggal, if from Borneo is Belian,
they both are so tough that can sink into water immediately, once you drop it into water,
for Chenggal the fiber are very fine and dense, its color is yellow, and will change to deep red or even dark brown if exposed to sun,
and they won't rot in water even if soak in water for decades, thus Chenggal is made into boats, and ship, and harbors.
Chenggal is unique to Peninsular not found in Borneo, and Belian is not found in Peninsular Malaysia, but unique to Borneo,
for Belian, there is very rare now they forbid export from Borneo state even to West Malaysia is prohibited.
its yellow and will be turning to deep red or dark brown like Chenggal too, its fiber is dense and fine like Chenggal too,
Those are the best wood of Malaysia, or should I say best wood of tropical, even termite(white ant) do not eat them.

Teak are good to make into furniture due to it's form are unchange in condition,
it will not shrink, bent or crack even made into very thin boards, and its wooden texture are very nice to see.
but not very hard and do not have very good resistance to water.

I myself have some furniture made of Belian, Chenggal and Teak too, if there is chance, I will upload the photos of them...

If it is mention that the exotic wood, I think those 3 can be counted as exotic wood from Tropical.
they might not be so famous since tropical country do not have fine craftsmen to made them into fine furniture
like those exotic woods from China or India or Africa.

Just some basics.
for these kind of things, You need to touch the real thing feel them,
even work with them to know the real deal.

My grand father is a carpenter, My father learn alot from him,
and he made some of our own furniture, so I learn some from him.

and I made my own arm rest for my HHKB. although it look extremely bad and cheap looking @@

@kaysa - That is some knowledge of wood!
@Kaiser - I think teak is going to be too damn hard to make a keyboard case. But if anybody does a nice one, I'll buy it for 160 Euros or more in a sec. I seem to prefer heavy keyboards, like the IBMs (~2.5 kg or more) - they have a more solid feel. I liked the Montereys on the SIIG Minitouch but the whole thing was light like a feather. When I started typing/pounding on it, the case would wobble, and then I have thoughts about Made in USA vs Taiwan...  Haven't owned an aluminium keyboard yet, but I guess it would have a more solid feel than plastic (I mean modern day plastic, not vintage IBM plastic). I like the idea of touching the wood - feels better/warmer than plastic or metal - but I've never seen one that interests me.
*
epiguru: Teak aren't as heavy nor as hard as Chengal or Belean.
But rest assured its heavier than any plastic.

Actually I went around looking abit more after that.... the information at the v4 topic is not helpful for my keyboard. The information @ v4 is more suited to be said as switches that are available in the market rather than the type of switch manufacturing technique used. After looking around for almost an hour, I found this which gives me the most helpful information. My keyboard is using linear switch with with membrane contact mechanism (tho it's a 1 layer membrane in contact with a PCB if I remember correctly). I mentioned similar because both use membranes and spring, I didn't say it is using topre.
This line could offend people when used inappropriately which is true in my case. I wanted to learn and given the incomplete information, that's the best deduction I could do at the time. Have you even looked inside the Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro before posting?

Heck I'm not coming back after this treatment for trying to learn. At least my inferior keyboard has proven its worth by being in use for over 10 years.

Added on May 6, 2012, 9:02 pm@kaiserreich & Human10 thanks for the info.
@JohnDiew0107 as I said similar.
Btw I don't think my switch for each key can be removed individually.

EDIT: at least not with the tools I have or with the risk of losing my keyboard.
*
@scaler my apology if any insult are posted to you,

think I got too excited because I got myself a HHKB with a Topre switch.

I too owned a MS natural keyboard around 10 years ago,
in my memories, the touch of the Natural keyboard are not similar to a Topre switch.

Ya those too, you should look all and find yourself one that suit you best, or just get every switch and try them out,
then decide on which one you gonna keep. for me, I brought all, then tried them all.
and finally I stop at Topre HHKB Pro 2.

from your siggy i noticed you also have leopold fc500r red switch... may i know your opinion on red switch against black? tongue.gif

ot: i don't have that much pvc figures yet >"<... still looking around for more  drool.gif
*
7G is my first Mechanical keyboard, 2nd is Filco, 3rd is Leopold, then one of those strange keyboard from 1988, and finally a CdPro2
Main different of red and black is the key press weight, the black is 55g force, red is 45g, correct me if I m wrong,

I found that the Black is heavier than my level of comfort typing, but I think it is better in gaming,
I have less mistake in gaming when using 7G than the red switch Leopold, Might be the reason I m using USB for Leopold,
but P/S2 for 7G.... not sure.

The overall performance, durabilities and built of 7G is Guaranteed, hence the price tag is above Filco, Leopold and Das,
the only shortcoming is that the keycaps are difficult to find replacement.

But my sale are include of the replacement keycaps as well, so there is nothing holding it back, just my commercial promoting line. icon_rolleyes.gif

On complete other elements:
I have a shining wind PVC Clalaclan Bikini edition, maybe you know what that mean.... sweat.gif
and have some Chobits stuffs, some Hentai stuffs, some Ecchi stuffs, a Air-gear Ringo Pinky, a Tsuki Hime Alucard pinky.
and more, total around 80 pcs of collections sweat.gif most of them are out of the box, but some are MISB also.

Let me know your collection direction, and I will post some images...

wow, thanks for the clarification... in your experience and and from what you heard from others, do you often hear people saying that they 7G keycaps need to be replaced due to faulty/defect etc etc? btw, Not sure how I feel regarding the rainbow keycaps... it's just too... colorful  sweat.gif

I have some list of what figures I want here
i suppose for shining series, I'd like kureha & xiao mei... I like tony taka's artwork, and only a handful of figures were able to live up to my expectations sadly tongue.gif
*
lol, there had not been even one person telling me that their keycaps need to be replace, but for my own I feel like replacing, since they are ABS,
I do not have much love for ABS keycaps, so I got myself a set of PBT when some of the original ABS are slightly worn.
the colorful thingy is personal preference, but to be honest, the one I thought I ordered is slightly darker in tone,
but they sent this one, But it kinda look good to so I didn't complain, and after uses for quite sometime,
it sink in to me, I feel that it is a good color now....

So like I say, the original ABS keycaps are slightly worn, I suggest buyer get the PBT keycaps together with the keyboard.

For my PVC figure collections, Its spontaneous, or impulsive buy for most of them,
some I like the figure because I like the story of the characters,
many of them have very striking appearances and designs, and when I first saw them online or on the shop display shelf, sweat.gif
I grab them.... because I missed several and they are all non-reproduction items, I do not want to miss one that I regret later.
but ever since I stuck in this Mecha Keyboard Hell, I stop going through those PVC stuffs,
and most of my "investment" went the keyboard and keycaps. whistling.gif

I see... haha I guess it's personal preference since I prefer black color tongue.gif... and I like it even more when I saw a totally blank keycaps keyboard... however I guess from my POV, I will only be buying one mechanical kb, so I guess there's no need to worry of upgratitis, and that if possible, I want the first purchase to be the last too tongue.gif, I guess that's why I'm making some research first...

do you have like a list of figures for me to see? who knows there might be one that'll interest me... you can pm me the list so it doesn't go too off topic tongue.gif

*
Haha, you can only dream to stop at first mechanical keyboard.
You think you can stop at first PVC figure collection?
making research will not help, unless your research involving typing the keyboard switches,
find a place where they have all kind of switches, and try them all, that won't do the trick too,
be cause even same switches in different brand feels different because the built and materials,
quality control, and designs are differ. and when you go down the road of Keycaps mods,
there is more hell waiting. PBT, ABS, POM, Metal, just wait until you sink deeper into this keyboard hell.

I m not into trading or selling my pvc collection just yet, I would love to sell some just to make some space,
but I m need to sort out what I really have, I only displaying them in a cabinet and some are piling up against one another...
I will post up to the collectible or model sale/trading section when the time is right, you can see them when the topic are up.
